Found a couple of extra items from news articles
  • Body was found over an embankment along Legislative Route 40041, the Bear Creek-White Haven Road 3 miles from Route 115
  • LE assumed with the UID wearing double layer socks that the person had issues with his feet.
  • Wearing jockey shorts labeled Derby
  • The bracelet was noted as a solid four strand 14 kt gold cuff bracelet on his right wrist "Vendon" was engraved on the inside of the bracelet. There was no clarity as to whether the inscription was a jeweler stamp or an engraved name. All news articles that I have found so far stated "Vendon" unsure if it was found later to be "Vedon"
  • Well manicured finger and toenails
  • Victim may have been made to kneel down before he was shot in the front
  • Dark Brown Hair

Avedon seems more likely. Or might it have been Vendome? They made high-end costume jewelry in the sixties and seventies. I don't recall that they made men's jewelry though. One of their designs was a snake--wish they had photos of the jewelry.

Ancestry seems to have information about families with the surname Vedon.

Would love photos and clarity on the name for sure it would at least narrow down if it was a manufactured or customized piece. Found a couple of Vendome bracelets gold plated in which over time the silver would show through woukd make sense that the descrip went from 14k to SS

Was there any mention on brand names or tags on his shirt trousers and shoes?

Thus far madamx have not found any mention of the clothing labeling other than the Derby branded jockey shorts as you only found ads for Derby as men's briefs vs jockey shorts.

He seems to have been a man that maintained himself fairly well given his attire and manicured nails. Someone has got to know him .... his age range changed dramatically initial reports placed him in a much higher age range it could also be one of the reasons he was not identified at the time.

AIP this is a great UID to bring foward

The comments about resembling Andy Gibb reminded me of a guy missing from California, Michael Causley. He disappeared after a boating accident, and while it's presumed he drowned, apparently he might have slipped off in the confusion.

The decedent was found May 28, 1979 and was estimated to have been dead around ten days. Causley's accident was May 11, which leaves a week to get to Pennsylvania before the murder.

This is probably a no go because Doenet says both the UID and Causley have DNA available, but the timeline and the resemblance are in line.

The comments about resembling Andy Gibb

Believe our commentaries are telling our age ... :D wonder how many of the younger generation had to google him ..

Michael would be a very good match however given the identifiers and circumstances .. is a you said possible but a long shot.

The description was dark brown hair there was an MP in NJ that disappeared not long before this UID was found however the weight is well over the estimate for this UID to be the MP.

Mark Collum seemed to be in range however he was last known to be IN a long shot to PA.

If LE has some indication the jewelry was made in NY looking at MP's towards the eastern side of Bear Creek Township. NY, NJ, PA

With his pocket's turn out could be a possible robbery even thou his jewelry was not removed someone looking for cash and quick took only his wallet.

I was asking about the clothing labels because of his jewelry and well manicured nails and toes makes me think this guy had money and if his age is 15 to 20. For some reason I am getting Male Escort or Drugs. I can be totally off here but is just a feeling.
I wonder if the Derby Jockey underwear was a higher end underwear for the Jockey Label?

Omg your right!!! I did not have to think twice when you wrote Andy Gibb ha! It's funny because there is this other UID in PA and his reconstruction reminds me so much of Lou Reed from the Velvet Underground days. I have not said anything because I was thinking nobody will know what Iam talking about haha... Now I think I will post it

I came across this guy missing since April 3 1979 from IL. I was looking at his photo and he seems like a snazzy well kept and put together dresser. His hair even looks perfect. Seems like the UID was really put together aswell. He even took care of his hands and toes. Which is not something guys tend to do.
