In a news release, the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office says Pereda was last seen in Riverton at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5. His last known destination was the Sandraw landfill south of Riverton — he never arrived.

Pereda was operating a white 2002 single-cab Toyota Tundra, possibly with a load of garbage in the bed. The license plate number for that vehicle is 10-18870.

Jose "Pepe" Pereda was last seen headed south on South Federal Boulevard at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5. His only known destination was the Sand Draw Landfill outside of Riverton, but he never arrived.

Pereda was driving a white single-cab 2002 Toyota Tundra. The truck has county 10 license plates and is missing both rear hubcaps. It was last seen with trash in the bed of the truck.

According to a news release from the sheriff's office, Pereda is described as having memory loss. He may be disoriented or confused.

Fixed-wing aircraft have been used over the last several days to search thousands of acres in the Sand Draw and Gas Hills areas, as well as areas further south of Beaver Rim. The sheriff's office says other areas of the county have been examined without results.

Pereda is described as a Hispanic male standing 5'7" tall and weighing 130 pounds. He was last seen wearing a gray/black flannel long sleeve shirt and black pants.

Anyone with information is urged to immediately contact the sheriff's office at 307-332-5611.

Wyoming Man's Disappearance Under Investigation

Missing Fremont County man’s truck located; Jose Pereda still not found

Pereda’s 2002 Toyota Truck was located during an aerial search Wednesday afternoon about 10 miles east of Riverton in a remote area of the Wind River Indian Reservation, Pereda was not with the vehicle. “The Toyota was stuck in a large washout along a Pipeline Road”, said Fremont County Undersheriff Ryan Lee, “The vehicle was located by an aircraft associated with the Civil Air Patrol out of Powell”.

I see that "he has diabetes and does need insulin" from the Missing Poster.

I'm hoping and praying that if he became confused (because of his diabetes) he is safe and sound somewhere.

My heart goes out to his family. They must be worried sick.

May they hold one another close until Mr. Pereda is found safe.
