From a strategy point of view, I don't understand what the prosecution gains from having Darrel testify. If it's true he didn't testify to the Grand Jury, they don't really know what he might or might not say.

From the standpoint of wanting to know what happened, I'd love to see him testify because there are so many unanswered questions. I just worry the prosecution is messing up a sure thing.

Prosecution & defense going back and forth over prosecution calling Daron Wint’s bro, Darrell saying he’s connected to gang & that he was involved in attack of former gang member for allegedly snitching. Defense says several other witnesses called are part of gang.

For the prosecution, I don't know what good can come out of Darrell taking the stand! Snitching?

New-Prosecutors in #Mansionmurders case say in open court "Mr. Wint" will testify in rebuttal case. That means Darrell will take the stand. The wild card in this weeks long trial in which the defense claimed he was the mastermind.

Prosecutors in the #MansionMurders trial begin rebuttal case with Darrell Wint-the defendants brother-who has not been charged. So far testimony has revolved around establishing a timeline for where he was on 5/13 & 14. There are gaps especially on the 13th.

For 6 weeks jurors only heard his name as #DaronWint and his attorneys pointed their finger at Wint’s brother Darrell as the man responsible for killing 3 members of a wealthy D. C. family and their housekeeper. Prosecutors today will call Darrell as witness. #MansionMurders.

back in the #MansionMurders trial - prosecutors show receipt from 5/14 @ 12:16pm to support Darrell Wint’s testimony he was in Silver Spring the day of the Savopoulos murders. Daron Wint admitted he was at the house 5/14, claimed Darrell there too. @fox5dc

The prosecution seems to be doing well in establishing DarrW's whereabouts, at least on the 14th.

The delivery of the pizza coincides with the time when the witnesses from the Australian Ambassador's house identified DW entering the garage around noon time.

It's a murder trial. The judge has to give the defense leeway if there's any argument to be made for probing this area. If it goes to discredit his credibility as a witness or to his willingness to subvert the court system (as in trying to obstruct justice) then that can come in. BUT without proof of it, if Darrell denies that's what his assault was about then they are stuck with his answer and then there's no evidence of it. That is, they can't argue that in closing.
