Thursday, November 29th:
*Pretrial Hearing for both (@ 11am CT) - MO - Savannah Leckie (16) (July 19, 2017, Theodosia) – *Robert Peat, Jr. (31) (BF of mom) indicted (7/18/17) on 1st & 2nd degree murder, abuse of a child resulting in death, tampering with evidence & abandonment of corpse. Plead not guilty. No bond.
Trial was to start July 30th, but has been cancelled, next hearing Oct. 16 re “new” developments in case per DA. July 5 hearing, Judge Calvin Holden ruled that Peat could be released on his own recognizance “to reside with his family in Ozark County” with GPS monitoring by Court Probationary Services.
7/6/18 Update: Peat has been release on his own recognizance pending his next court (pretrial) hearing on 10/16. He is to wear a GPS monitoring device & reside with his family in Ozark County while under the supervision of Court Probationary Services. His July 30 trial date was canceled. The Attorney General's Office requested that Peat be released as the state looks into some new developments in the case.
10/16/18 Update: Next Pretrial Conference hearing on 11/29.
*Rebecca Ruud (39), “mother” indicted (7/18/17) on 1st & 2nd degree murder, abuse of a child resulting in death, tampering with evidence & abandonment of corpse. Plead not guilty. Denied bond (10/16/18).
Disposition hearing was Jan. 3, 2018; RR has been granted a change of judge. The case has been transferred to Judge David P. Evans of the 37th Judicial Circuit Court, according to court documents; 10/19/17 update: Judge granted Defense change of venue motion, case will be moved to Taney County (from Ozark County).
Trial was set for August 27th, but stricken from calendar. Pretrial hearing on 8/24/18 @ 11am whether bench or jury trial will be heard in Greene County. If Bench trial scheduled for Nov. 26-28 in Greene County, if jury trial then set for Jan. 28-Feb. 1, 2019 in Taney County.
9/9/18 Update: Ruud picks Jury trial. Next pretrial conf & bond hearing on 10/16 & jury trial starts 1/28/19.
10/16/18 Update: Judge denies bond. Next Pretrial Conference hearing on 11/29 in Greene County.

Read this case from the beginning, Obviously she went for a jury trial, These murders suck anything they can out of the “justice” system.

Let out on his own recognizance. Unbelievable.

The informant...I was waiting for a bombshell.

2 rakes.

Missing pills.

Bizarre statement made by RR about the pills.

Just Wow.

Can anyone access Missouri court records?
Wondering what is going on with Peat?
And a next court date for Rudd?

TIA!

Scheduled hearings for Rebecca M Ruud

Thanks a bunch Mica!

I'm wondering on the attached that someone mis-typed the date of Pretrial hearing for 4/17. It says 4/17 in the 11/29 review of hearing, but has 4/19 as a separate entry. And I see Peat has 4/17 as the next date.

What do you think? Anyone, actually?

I believe the 4/17 date in the review of hearing for RR is a typo.

Attached are the scheduled hearings for RR taken from the Scheduled Hearings and Trial section of the court register. The next hearing is 4/19/19.

I somehow got the feeling when his trial was cancelled and he was released that he may be going to be a witness for the state. I don't have any idea where/how I came to that conclusion. So, it may be just that I had some weird dream about this case, who knows. But, it would make sense that he is sentenced or pleads out after Rebeca's case has concluded, if that is the route they are going with him. Thank you @Laughing for always keeping us posted on these cases. Much appreciated!

Looks like Peat didn't take a plea deal....

Trial dates in Leckie case moved to 2020 | Ozark Radio News

Online court records say Rebecca Ruud’s trial has been delayed to January 27, 2020, while Robert Peat Jr. has a pre-trial hearing scheduled on February 7. Ruud’s trial will take place in Forsyth, while Peat’s trial is slated to take place in Springfield.

Bench trial, huh? Hmmm, does she think a judge will be kinder to her than a jury? Perhaps offer a parole-based 30--40 year sentence? There are a lot of very tuff but fair judges out there, and they have seen a lot of horror in the cases over which they preside. A judge will likely, IMO, really sock it to her. And should. There is no way out of this thing for her, IMO. And the sooner the better.
