Family members joined with Henderson County Rescue Crews Monday to search for their loved one Rocky Wilson who has been missing for more than 48 hours.

Rocky Wilson’s brother, [EW] said it’s unusual for his brother to go missing for this long.

“He never would stay gone overnight and especially not in this cold weather,” said [EW].

[EW] said he called the sheriff’s department after his brother didn’t return home.

“He had been grocery shopping and he was suppose to be taking his groceries home to his kids and they had called like at 1 o’clock that afternoon and said he never showed up,” said [EW].

“The only thing missing from the vehicle was him,” said Adams, who also confirmed the place where his vehicle was found is actually on the opposite end of Lexington from Wilson’s home. “Black Bottom Road is a back road close to the lake where hunters will go and other people will stop and sit for a while.”

Wilson’s family hadn’t reported him missing, so local law enforcement began looking for him after an officer found his vehicle and tracked down the owner and figured out there’s a missing person.

Sheriff’s officers, rescue squads and other entities have been searching the area around Beech Lake for Wilson.

“We’ve had drones and dogs with the people looking through the area around the water, and we’ll begin searching the water and will have a helicopter fly over (Tuesday),” Adams said. “If anyone knows anything or if anybody was out in the woods Saturday that may have seen something, please let us know because right now, finding Rocky Wilson is our only concern.

“We haven’t had any leads to give us anything concrete to go on yet.”

Search for missing Henderson Co. man enters day 2 - WBBJ TV

More than 20 people showed up Tuesday morning to help search for 39-year-old Rocky Wilson.

Wilson was reported missing Saturday afternoon when he didn’t come home after grocery shopping.

“Getting our game plan together as far as how we’re going to GPS track it to know where we’ve searched,” Allen said.

Volunteers from the Henderson County, Decatur County, and Carroll County rescue squads, along with the Finger Fire Department, all searched for Wilson. The group prayed before splitting up to search the woods off Black Bottom Road.

The only two things missing from the vehicle was Rocky, himself, and his car keys. "He had $300 of groceries, some cash and his medication in there, and all of that was still in the vehicle."

One person did report seeing the vehicle about 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at a restroom facility at the lake with the groceries and everything in the vehicle, but no one was around.

from the Jackson Sun article linked upthread, Rocky takes medication for anxiety (which was left in the vehicle)(prescribed after his father was killed in a car accident in 2008 in which Rocky survived, wow...) and is known to "wander"... Also, $300 could be a lot of groceries and other stuff from WaImart. Sounds like his phone is with him, as it was not reported to have been left in the vehicle.

Hope to those who know and love Rocky... Sometimes it is all we have to go on.
