Thank as always for the great information and links. Other than court records I could find nothing on her on the internet, no social media, nothing. Since her trial was back in Jan. I would think that if she had been sentenced to jail time, it would have already have been served when she went missing.

last seen leaving a residence in Berwick, Pennsylvania at 11:00 pm-12:30 midnight on June 13, 2018.
Tianna was not working at time of disappearance and she did not have a drivers license. Cell phone was noted as left behind.

May 14—An assistant District Attorney said a "serial killer is off the streets" after a homeless man charged with homicide in Luzerne County late last year was arrested Friday morning for killing a 25-year-old McClure woman who went missing in 2018.

Harold David Haulman III, 43, was arrested by former Pennsylvania State Trooper Cpl. Shawn Williams, now a Luzerne County Detective, in the murder of Tianna Phillips, who went missing in June 2018.

During his confession, Haulman told police that he picked up Phillips and took her to a wooded area near Hobbie Road in Luzerne County. He walked into the woods and he told her they were going to build a fire. But instead, as he followed her he struck her over the head with a hammer several times and later slashed her throat with a knife before stabbing her multiple times.

Haulman's wife told police her husband returned to their Duncannon home and confessed to the murder, but she didn't believe him. Haulman later gave her digital images of a deceased female and his wife told police she was shocked and scared.

Haulman’s wife told police that several months after the crime had occurred, she went with him back to the site. She said he wanted to collect some of the evidence there. He took with him, he told police, black trash bags that he then filled with clothing and some of Phillips' body parts. He stashed them in these dumpsters behind the AMC Theaters in Scott Township.​

She also told investigators that in September 2018, Haulman, III took her to the area to retrieve evidence. She said Haulman, III pulled off the road and went into the wooded area, coming back with a black garbage bag that appeared to have contents inside.

She told police, Haulman, III told her he had taken Phillips’ skull, clothing and other body parts from the scene. She says they then drove to the AMC theater in Scott Township, Columbia County where the bag was thrown in a dumpster behind the building.

In December 2020, after a suicide attempt by Haulman, III, investigators interviewed him in his hospital room where he confessed to killing Phillips’ with a hammer and a knife in the same area where Shultz’s body was located.

Police conducted several searches in the area but could not find the remains of Phillips’ body.​

Accused serial killer set for pre-trial hearing in September

A homeless man accused of killing four people, including women from McClure and Bloomsburg, will appear in Luzerne County Court on Sept. 9 for a conference prior to facing trial.

Harold David Haulman III, 43, who told authorities he was unsure if he would have killed again if he hadn’t been caught, researched serial killers, Hannibal Lector and “Silence of the Lambs,” according to court documents, is now set for a pre-trial conference prior to going to trial on the two murder charges.

Haulman was arrested earlier this year for the murders of McClure resident Tianna Phillips, 25, who went missing in 2018, and Bloomsburg resident Erica Shultz, 26, who went missing late last year.

During the course of interviews with former Bloomsburg state trooper Shawn Williams, now Shikellamyy Area School District Police Chief, said Haulman spoke about a third murder, involving, Ashley Parlier, 21, of Battle Creek, Michigan, in 2005, police said.

Like the case of Phillips, Haulman admitted to going back to the location in Michigan to see where he said he disposed of the body, and all he found were “bones,” according to police.

Williams said Haulman beat Phillips with a hammer and stabbed her with a knife, then disposed of the body in a Columbia County dumpster in 2018.

A homeless man accused of killing two women from our region has pleaded guilty. 43-year-old Harold Haulman III, who has no address, was sentenced to life in prison without parole as a result.

He’s responsible for the killing of 25-year-old Tianna Phillips of McClure, who went missing in 2018, and 26-year-old Erica Shultz of Bloomsburg, who went missing late last year. Haulman was arrested earlier this year on murder charges.

Details of Disappearance
Phillips was last seen leaving a friend's residence in the 400 block of east 9th Street in Berwick, Pennsylvania at 11:00 p.m. on June 13, 2018. She went to her friend's home and said she'd been in a fight with her boyfriend and that someone named "Dave" was going to pick her up. has never been heard from again. She wasn't working at the time of her disappearance and didn't have a driver's license, and she left her cellular phone behind.

In May 2021, Harold David Haulman III was charged with criminal homicide in Phillips's case. He was already in jail awaiting trial for the murder of Erica G. Shultz, a Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania woman; he'd been charged with that murder in December 2020. These were not the first homicides he had been charged with.

In 1999, at the age of 20, Haulman had pleaded guilty to killing an acquaintance, Joseph Lawrence "Jay" Whitehurst, the 21-year-old son of a U.S. Air Force colonel. Whitehurst had been beaten to death with a club. Because people under the age of 21 are considered juveniles in German criminal courts and because Haulman had been diagnosed with schizophrenia, he served only six years in a German reform school for Whitehurst's death.

A photo of Haulman is posted with this case summary. Phillips had been seeing him, although she had a boyfriend and Haulman was married. Investigators believe Haulman was the "Dave" who was supposed to pick her up on the night of her disappearance, although Haulman said he never picked her up that night.

According to Haulman's wife, she knew her husband was seeing another woman, but when Phillips's boyfriend called and said he knew as well, Haulman got angry and said he would kill either Phillips or the boyfriend. Haulman confessed to the murder; he stated he picked up Phillips and took her to a wooded area near Hobbie Road. He walked into the woods and told Phillips they were going to build a fire, but instead he struck her over the head with a hammer several times, slashed her throat and stabbed her.

Haulman subsequently told his wife he had killed Phillips, and when she didn't believe him he showed her digital photos of a woman's dead body. Months after the crime happened, according to Haulman's wife, she went with him to the site of the homicide to remove evidence. He took some black trash bags and filled them with clothing and some parts of Phillips's body, then put the bags in some dumpsters behind the AMC Theaters in Scott Township, Pennsylvania.

Haulman's other victim, Shultz, was killed in the same location off Hobbie Road where he reportedly killed Phillips. He met both women on an online dating app. Authorities stated he also had "links" to Ashley Parlier, a young woman who disappeared from Battle Creek, Michigan in 2005.

When he was interviewed by police in January 2021, Haulman asked if all three cases, that of Phillips, Schultz and Parlier, could be combined because he wasn't interested in a trial. Parlier's name had not been mentioned in the investigation before. Haulman subsequently confessed to her killing. In July 2021, he was charged with murder in her case as well.

In September 2021, in order to avoid facing the death penalty, Haulman pleaded guilty to Phillips and Shultz's murders. He was sentenced to two terms of life in prison without parole. He is still awaiting trial in Parlier's case.

Phillips has two young sons, who are now in the care of relatives. Her body has not been found, but foul play is suspected in her case due to the circumstances involved.
