If this question has been asked and answered I missed it. I don't recall any reports or other info stating that PF has any kind of violent history. No calls for domestic disturbances, no reported domestic violence, no criminal record or anything else that would suggest he is capable of doing any of the things that would have to be done in a worst case scenario here. In past cases, during times like we are in here or after an arrest has been made we usually learn about the deep, dark past of the suspect or the person arrested for commiting the crime. There are certain things that can't be kept from LE or anyone else for that matter. I am trying to get my head around the idea that someone could go from no violent history or tendencies directly to what possibly happened in this situation. Has there been any discussions about this?

No criminal past that I have found. But...Chris Watts.

NO one would question if he’s an adoring parent if he were the child’s mother carrying her around. Yes, he might be an adoring father. Just because he’s the father and not the mother doesn’t tell us that she’s a prop to him.
I don't think she is necessarily a "prop." I believe he cares very much for the baby. There must be a reason he would not let the grandmother see the baby. Do we know if she had ever seen the child? He may be holding tight to his daughter because he is under the impression that Kelsey's parents never approved of him or that they had a baby out of wedlock, and he is bitter or resentful. Maybe Kelsey had told him she wanted to take the baby to see her family, they had an argument which got out if control and that led to her "disappearance." Imo

Well I'm hoping no news is good news on the digging.
I think it's strange that PF would tell the aunt that SHE ended the relationship on Thanksgiving if he did something to her. That's just giving himself a motive. Why wouldn't he have said HE broke up with her if he wanted it to look like she ran off needing time away or to self harm? I just don't know what to think.

Not saying this happened here, but it's a typical story in cases where a man harmed a woman he is involved with. He wants to make himself look like the injured party. He wants to be seen as an innocent man who had a woman dump him and leave him so that he will be the one given sympathy. Just like Chris Watts tried to claim his wife had left him. CW tried to make it seem like she was the one pushing for a divorce but their text messages told a different story. His wife was trying to save their marriage in that case while he was having an affair. In this case here we have signs that Kelsey wanted to marry PF but he wasn't willing to commit. Her mom saying the price of cattle was a factor in why they couldn't buy a place together is a big clue of this being the case. Kelsey buying her own 2 bedroom townhome in May but PF still not living there is another clue. If he loved her he would have married her. The price of cattle was an excuse. MOO.

Curious as to what prompted LE to bring excavating equipment. Perhaps during the first search, an area of disturbed earth was noticed? Or in searching a property of that size (ground wise) is it standard to do so?
I'm not sure if its standard procedure. They may have been using all the resources possible in an attempt to intimidate him. It may have been part of a tactic. Maybe they thought a little pressure would convince him to sit down and finally have an interview. Imo

Yes I’m finding it very disconcerting in the very LEAST that HER family are not allowed to see the baby? Who does that? What caused that type of rift? What has it fueled?

Personally I think he doesn’t want to see her family, much less hand his daughter over to them. I think he doesn’t want to answer the inevitable questions that her family will have. The thought has also crossed my mind that the little girl may have seen something that he doesn’t want repeated to her family. Even at her age she may still be able to shed light on what happened.

Can he not by law of some kind be FORCED to participate in an inquiry (his lawyer present of course)? I’ve never seen such evasion as in this case. If you are pretending to want to know what happened to your baby’s mother, wouldn’t you at least want to keep your name clear by answering questions with the investigator?

Thanks. I was looking for a link to support that. I had read it before on here early on from a family member/poster.
Same article says his Uncle is the retired Sheriff from another county in Colorado. I don't know if that means a deputy or the High Sheriff himself. Either way PF is getting a lot of advice on how to proceed every step of the way. I'm from a family of LE officers and the first rule, innocent or guilty, Don't talk to the police...whatever you say can be twisted. Of course if I were PF I would be on every news station screaming, begging, crying for her to be found. I'd also be out every day 24/7 searching for her (I'd find someone else to take care of my child, like the other Grandmother).

That's an interesting thought. Or, they've found something. Isn't their property 32 acres ? It's not a huge amount if land but big enough that it wouldn't make sense to randomly dig holes in without a reason.

The excavator doesn't seem like great news, though.

We are all wondering! We don't know, LE hasn't released any info.

The only reason I can think of is what I said in the above post. Her family was very religious. Her mom seemed to want people to know that about her. Maybe they did not approve of PF because they thought he was putting off the marriage. Her mom stressed that they were getting married but made excuses for the delay. Apparently her daughter gave her reasons for why they put it off. Reasons that didn't really make sense. Maybe they weren't involved with the child's life. We don't even know if they spent time with PF.
Maybe they did not approve of him and he was resentful. Maybe he considers them an interference. That is the only reason I can think of for his dislike of them. He may see her family as a threat. He likely fears that they will try to get custody of the child. Imo

No. They can force you to come in (arrest you), but they cannot force you to speak or participate in an interview. That is an extremely important part of the US constitution (right to remain silent).

Or in this case one of the cadaver dogs may have SCENTED on a few spots of the land...in which case they’d use whatever means necessary to verify the finding.

IMO if they found anything with the back hoe, they would still be there. Forensic specialists would be brought in and they would be seeking an extension of the search warrant.

With a smile ... I only claim the obvious

It is well known that a 3rd party love interest is almost always present in over-heated domestic situations that spark deadly.

Many on Holidays

For each media sensationalized domestic that did not involve a 3rd party ... we all can count 10 that did.

Scott Peterson, OJ and the recent Chris Watts ... are all the same ... 3rd party love interest

It is hard to find a domestic murder that does not involve a 3rd party love interest (or alcohol or abuse)

It is just the math of it
Wait you moved the goalposts there, last time you said ALL partnerships end because of an affair...which is totally untrue.

I don't think he can be forced. They would need some solid evidence to connect him to the crime, I believe. As for the lawyer, I think they would much prefer talking to him without him present. The lawyer will make sure he doesn't say anything to incriminate himself. Imo
