Found Deceased SPAIN - Amy Louise Gerard, 28, British woman, Tenerife, Canary Islands, 30 Nov 2018

I am on vacation in Puerto de la Cruz and there are no signs about Amy anywhere.
I'll be hiking across the beaches and coastline today.
I can't find the place she was last seen when she went missing, does anyone have it on a map?

She'd been out at Molly Malones on the main front and was last seen leaving there. I believe she was found further west, near the lighthouse (Faro de Puerto de la Cruz). Small beach and car park / rocky shoreline in between. Don't know if this link will work but both should be shown on this map

Google Maps

I can't work out how or where she fell in. If you look at the map assuming she was heading west (do we know where she lived?) she'd have skirted the beach then maybe gone onto Calle Mequinez or Calle San Felipe? The sea would have been a bit out of the way until she got even further west, past the lighthouse. Further still there is another beach near Zoo Loro Parque where she worked, maybe she went there. It is all a bit strange in my opinion, if I were her family I'm not sure I'd be convinced it was accidental.

Have a great holiday! Is it warm?!

There was just 3 helicopters (black) over here, maybe they are looking for something/someone?
I'll go out tonight and ask around!

NO, it's cold af, and I'm wearing my grandma's woolly jumper!

Do you guys think I should try find Molly Malones up there and see what the coastline is like? We did pass a lot of human-nonfriendly areas yesterday up here, lots of cliffs etc. I'll go have a look both ways.
And no, you won't read about me here next week, I'm telling the hotel guy and my mom exactly where I'm going and bringing my phone..

Ok, will be going out very soon, I will be going upwards to Molly's and west to where the nearest beach is.
I'll try take pictures too. Be aware I'm the crappiest photographer in the world.
=)

If we knew where she lived it'd help. It'll be interesting to hear what your gut feeling is - let's make an assumption that she did start walking west towards the lighthouse / larger beach / zoo park, at what point would going anywhere near the actual water seem like a shortcut or sensible plan?

They said Playa Cruz?

She was found in the water/down the cliffs opposite the lighthouse.

Thanks Alice for checking out the place!

She would have gone south if she wanted parties. I'm going the same areas Amy would have gone tomorrow. See you on theo ther side.

What lighthouse? I think it's opposite my place. Let me know google address!

I think there's only one lighthouse, but looking at a google image of it it's not a typical one (not like a British one anyway, I'm no expert on lighthouse styles of the world though!). It looks more like a tall black frame. Found it?

Domestic violence team now investigating Amy death
The ongoing probe into the death of a Cleethorpes killer whale trainer in Tenerife has been moved to a specialist domestic violence court.

A judge in Puerto de la Cruz was initially tasked with probing Amy Gerard’s death when her body was found in the sea nearly five days after she vanished.

But the case has now been transferred from an ordinary investigating court in the island’s northern coast city to a specialist court in nearby La Orotava which deals with cases of violence against women.

In Spain Courts For Violence Against Women - which began operating in 2005 essentially as domestic violence courts - have the power to investigate crimes including manslaughter or murder committed by victims’ husbands or boyfriends.

Investigators have yet to give any public explanation for the transfer to the court in La Orotava, where Amy lived, as a secrecy order over the case remains in place.

From that link:

An official speaking on behalf of the investigating judge in charge of the Court for Violence Against Women in La Orotova, where Amy was living when she disappeared, said: "The court has lifted the secrecy order hanging over the case since last year following the discovery of the body of Amy Louise Gerard off Puerto de la Cruz.

"The court has confirmed that the investigation has detected indications of criminality with regards to the boyfriend of the Loro Parque worker, who has been summonsed to give evidence in the next few weeks as a person under official investigation over his possible involvement in the death of Amy.

"When the autopsy showed that her body had signs of violence on it, the judge who was investigating the case at the time passed it over to the Court For Violence Against Women in La Orotova, where the dead woman lived."
