Interesting that they have compared her to a bunch of older cases--like going back to 1958.

Perhaps Alta Jane Doe is Lisa Ann Crouse (The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs), Lisa Ann Crouse – The Charley Project) or, and I know I'm not the first person to suggest this possible connection, Linda Evans Lunsford (The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs), Linda Evans Lunsford – The Charley Project)?

Lunsford has been suggested and submitted before, but still hasn't been ruled out.

Crouse looks very promising. Resembles the sketch, from not far away, not on the ruleouts.

Just submitted Lisa Ann Crouse as a potential match. The only reservation I have is that Lisa was about 24 at the time of her disappearance, while Alta Jane Doe's age is estimated at 37-47. That's a large gap, but I feel that the fact that many of the other vital statistics match up fairly well negates it.

Crouse disappeared from Romney, WV, a town about 200 miles away from Alta in the northeastern panhandle of WV. I think it would be a tiny bit odd, but by no means unprecedented or impossible, for someone to travel 200 miles away to dump a body near Alta. This is a really rough sketch, but I think that, if Crouse were to be Alta Jane, this would be the most likely route her killer would've taken. A large portion of the route is just a straight drive down US-220, with a turn onto I-64 near the end.
