"The attached video shows Susan in the area of Elgin Street and Laurier Avenue on January 10th at 10:45am. Investigators have also learned that at approximately 11:50am she headed north towards Laurier and is believed to have possibly boarded a westbound OC Transpo bus from the Mackenzie King Bridge or surrounding area. Furthermore, she may have disembarked from the bus in the area of Carling Avenue and Pinecrest Road. Susan was wearing a black mid thigh length parka with a black fur collar. It seems like they've solved this murder, and in such a sad way. I have no idea how I hadnt heard of it give that I work right near where she was last seen, and live near where she was thought to have gone.

For those who don't know ottawa Carling/Pinecrest has a large residence for Indigenous folks from the North. Mostly for people receiving medical treatments that they can't receive at home, etc. It used to be a seniors residence and I believe at one time a hotel.

Truly awful, imo.
Daughter, 18, charged with second-degree murder, body tampering in mother's disappearance

Lennese Kublu
"As police continued to search for her missing mother, an 18-year-old woman appeared in court Saturday morning on charges of second-degree murder and body tampering.

Lennese Kublu appeared before a justice of the peace at 9:45 a.m. via a video link from the cellblock.

“Good morning,” Kublu said before being asked to remove her orange hood, which she wore beneath a red wool coat.

During the brief appearance, she was remanded in custody until Wednesday and told not to communicate with four individuals, including Dwight Brown, who police describe as her boyfriend.

Kublu is also charged with one count of improper interference with a body, stemming from an allegation that her mother, Susan Kuplu, 37, was killed and her body put in a dumpster near a residence on Penny Drive in Ottawa’s west end."

"On Jan. 12, two days after Kuplu was last seen, Kublu and Brown rode a bus to Toronto.
Family members then believed that the two women were both missing.

Three days later, on Jan. 15, Kublu and Brown were arrested in Toronto for allegedly shoplifting. Brown also allegedly assaulted a store security guard."

"Police also spent a good part of the day at the west-end landfill, working on the theory that Susan’s body was first left in a dumpster near the Penny Drive home about two weeks earlier, then trucked to the dump with the regular trash. A police detective said landfill operators catalogued where loads were dropped, narrowing the search on the massive site."
"Kublu displayed little emotion as she appeared on a television screen in courtroom 5 of the courthouse on Elgin Street.

“Good morning,” she said to the court before she was asked to remove the orange hood that she wore beneath a red wool coat."
"Matricide is an uncommon crime in Canada, even rarer for females, according to statistical reviews."
