The police force now employ a lot of Polish officers. So can't see translation being a problem
Language line i think its called

We had one called big word or big world too that was a video conference call type thing. Cost a fortune per minute so management didn't like us using it.

Then we had language line which was no better.

Then we used to just say fetch a friend in that can speak English as it was loads more productive.

Then we used Google translate

Then we got as though most of our customers were starting to speak decent English anyway as they had been here a fair few years by then.

One eastern European lady developed a Yorkshire twang and used Yorkshire slang.

We have a polish guy that comes in every day and we chat by writing stuff down and a translation book.

We chat about origami lol.

decomposition produces detectable heat.

Yes, special thermal imaging cameras can be used to detect decomposition and cameras like FLIR cameras and other special cameras can be used to help find bodies. Best done at night by helicopters.

Its a relatively new LE investigative technique and I think its becoming more popular these days but it does take very special equipment because the temperature variations with the surrounding environment are much smaller than using the same sort of cameras to locate a live escaping person trying to elude officers.

Most of us have seen crime show video footage of these type of special infrared cameras being used to track a live suspect on the run at night. Works great. However using the same type of special cameras to find a decaying body is much more difficult because the temperature difference is much smaller. But the good news is it can be done and is being used more commonly now as a technique.

Attached is a good article that explains it well although it is a little technical.

Detection of Cadaveric Remains by Thermal Imaging Cameras

Hi all. Been reading this thread since yesterday but only just logged in to post. Can only begin to wonder what the parents are going though. The not knowing. We lost our daughter, only child, 22, last April to sudden adult death syndrome so can sympathise with the anguish. Not that we know she's dead.

I am so very sorry for your loss :(

Oh nooo, I'm sorry to hear that. What a shock for you! Heartbreaking. I really feel for Libby's family. I just want whoever knows to speak up urgently.
