3 men shot and killed in gated Porter Ranch neighborhood
"LAPD says at this time, it appears someone entered the home and shots were fired. They believe someone left the house after the shooting. Detectives are canvassing what police say is a "large crime scene" area for any clues that might shed light on what occurred Monday afternoon.

No arrests have been made and no suspect description is available at this time. A motive for the shooting remains under investigation.

Authorities ask anyone with information regarding this homicide to contact the LAPD."

Porter Ranch Triple Homicide Victims Identified

The triple homicide that has shaken an upscale, exclusive gated community was not a random attack, and it appears the yet to be identified killer or killers were allowed into the house, the police captain overseeing the investigation said Tuesday.

Called to a large house on Via Galileo in Porter Ranch's Renaissance community shortly before 4 p.m. Monday, responders found three men inside, all dead of apparent gunshot wounds.

The victims have been identified as Gary Davidson, 39, an occupant who rented the home, and two visitors, Benny Lopez, 46, of Anaheim, and Jesus Perez, 34, of Perris.

No Sign of Forced Entry in Porter Ranch Triple Killing

Gated community with what looks to be a guard building at the gate. Did perps have to show ID to get in? Did camera pick up plate numbers?

I feel like LE is tying loose ends up before they arrest. Unless they have no clue and maybe the perps jumped a fence or had no plates?

“We do have an idea of why” it happened, he said.

The police commander said there was no sign of forced entry. “I’ve indicated it’s clear the victims knew this individual or individuals and they let them in,” he said. He said police do have an idea of who’s been in an out of the complex. “It’s a gated community, and they do keep good track of who comes in and out,” he said.

The woman who made the 911 call is a resident of the home. She’s an individual that lives there and “we believe has a relationship with one of the victims, the renter, Gary Davidson,” said the commander.

He said that police don’t know if there’s more than one suspect and said it’s possible that Davidson let them through the gate. “You have to have permission from the resident to allow them to get in,” he said.

He said the suspect or suspects would have to have permission to get into the gated community and the residence. The woman “did not know any of the individuals in the house. She was only aware that Davidson was in the house,” he said."
