Lynn was last seen at her residence in the vicinity of the 2800 block of Regent St. in Berkeley, CA. She left her residence to meet a man at a restaurant in the vicinity of the 2600 block of Telegraph Ave. An unidentified waitress indicated that a woman matching Lynn's description came to the restaurant at 10:15am. Although the restaurant was closed, the waitress let her sit at a table to wait for someone. No one saw the woman leave the restaurant. Law enforcement found Lynn's locked bicycle near the restaurant.

According to Charley Project, she was meeting a man called "Jeff" for a photography shoot.

Under the flowers section, a note was left: "I dont know who took you, but I am researching the possibility of Rodney Alcala. I hope your family gets closure someday."

Wikipedia shows that serial killer, Rodney Alcala, was possibly still in prison at the time of Lynn's disappearance.

Many young women vanished in California; specifically in the 70s
Yes, and I wish I could figure out which ones are related to each other. I wonder if Lynn's case is related to that of Christine Marie Eastin. Berkeley isn't very far away from Hayward.

They do look A lot alike. What About Anne Marie Robinson who vanished from Long Beach, CA in 1972?

Thank you for reminding me about her; another woman who left behind a disabled car.
I guess Lynn doesn't have a thread in the 70s Missing forum? I looked for her and found her in Cold Cases. Wouldn't it be better if she were in Missing But Not Forgotten?

Berkeley was --and is-- place of free minded thinkers...lots of artists, musicians, philosophers. It seems like environments like that also attract lower life forms like the "Jeff" who made Lynne disappear. He was probably a third-rate photographer---if indeed he was a photographer at all.

Details of Disappearance
Connes left her home in the 2800 block of Regent Street in Berkeley, California on May 20, 1976. She had advertised for employment as a photographer's model and a man identifying himself as "Jeff" answered her ad. They agreed to meet at the Bateau Ivre Restaurant in the 2600 block of Telegraph Avenue, four blocks from her home.

A waitress at the restaurant stated that a woman matching Connes's description came in at 10:15 a.m. The business was closed at the time, but the waitress allowed to her to sit down and wait for her appointment. The waitress did not see her leave.

Connes has never been heard from again and "Jeff" has never been identified. Her bicycle was found locked near the restaurant but there was no sign of her. It's uncharacteristic of her to leave without warning. She worked part time as a telephone solicitor in Marin County, California at the time of her disappearance. Her case remains unsolved.
