PA - Grace Packer, 14, murdered, Abington, 4 July 2016 *Killer died*

Jury hears about Jacob Sullivan's hospital bed confession

One witness, then a registered nurse in the Abington Hospital ICU, testified Jacob Sullivan told her that he was relieved investigators were solving Packer’s murder because “it was extremely nerve-racking waiting for police to figure it out.”

Man, no doubt! Have to wonder in what else the guy was involved previously, y'know?

At least from the way the reporting reads to me, though he acknowledges his act(s)/behavior, there's no apparent remorse(?).
Exactly. It’s all about himself, IMO.

From the link BUF posted above:

“One witness, then a registered nurse in the Abington Hospital ICU, testified Jacob Sullivan told her that he was relieved investigators were solving Packer’s murder because ‘it was extremely nerve-racking waiting for police to figure it out.’

[SBM]

Another hospital worker testified Sullivan told her they plotted the murder and he knew he should go to prison, but he said he would get ‘eaten alive’ because his crimes involve a child.”

He confessed not because that was the right thing to do, but rather, for his own selfish reason. If the waiting was so stressful, he would have gone to LE much sooner.

He knew what he did was wrong, but not so wrong that he should be punished within the law.

Jacob is still all about Jacob, IMO.

Would love to hear a crime/criminal psychological commetary/analysis on the 'hiding the bowsaw receipt in a picture frame'. Like it's a game(???). What's the point? Coulda been burned... or flushed... or a million other things. But it's "hidden". Were they gonna return the saw for a refund(?). Add that to the bizarro-ness of this whole thing.

I got the feeling that the bow saw receipt was hidden in the picture frame as to try to implicate the person who actually purchased it (if caught) as the one who dismembered Grace. My guess is that SP put it there. Due to surveillance video and the GPS tracker on the car, that theory probably was debunked...along with the anthropologist testimony that two people were needed for the way her remains were found.

IMO she is as much a disgusting sicko as he is.

Another opportunity for some psychological analysis & commentary that I would love to hear...

It's said that these two had been planning this stuff for a year +/-. Yet they wait until the very day to buy the "supplies"(?). And throughout a year's worth of planning they never thought that GPS/telemetry was on the car(?). And they didn't consider security cameras in stores like Target/Walmart(?). I dunno what goes on in mind of someone like that... but "planning" isn't a strong point apparently.

We are on lunch break in the Jacob Sullivan penalty phase hearing. We just heard his hospital bed confession with details of how he murdered Grace Packer.

LaurieMasonSchroeder‏Verified account @LehighCourts 1h1 hour ago
Sullivan said Sara Packer watched him rape Grace and enjoyed knowing that Grace knew she, her mom, was not going to save her.

LaurieMasonSchroeder‏Verified account @LehighCourts 1h1 hour ago
“She got off on that. I did too, to tell you the truth” Sullivan said to detectives. His interview was played for the jury today.

LaurieMasonSchroeder‏Verified account @LehighCourts 1h1 hour ago
During the attack, when Sarah packer was out of the room, Sullivan said he rubbed Grace’s back and tried to make her feel better. “I still don’t feel like I was being malicious,” he told detectives.

LaurieMasonSchroeder‏Verified account @LehighCourts 1h1 hour ago
If you’re coming back to the hot attic 12 hours later and finding Grace still alive, he told detectives that he strangled her but tried to ease her fear.“Just go honey, just go,” he told her, according to the tape. “It’s OK honey it’s time to go.”

Not gonna lie folks, this one is really hard to cover.

Sullivan's confession: Grace looked to mom for help during rape

Sullivan's confession: Grace Packer looked to mom for help during rape

March 19, 2019

"Jacob Sullivan started his rape of Grace Packer by punching the 14-year-old girl in the face and ripping her pajama shirt. Crying, her mouth bloodied, Grace turned toward her adoptive mother, Sara Packer, and pleaded for help.

Packer just watched as the attack continued....

A Bucks County jury on Tuesday heard several hours of Sullivan’s taped confession, which he made while still hospitalized for a failed suicide attempt just before he and Packer were arrested for Grace’s rape and murder....

Packer, 44, is scheduled to testify for the defense Wednesday....

During the rambling Jan. 7, 2017 interview, Sullivan gave detectives details about how and where he and Packer dismembered and dumped Grace’s body, and described the rape and murder in excruciating detail....

The hearing is ongoing."

Another quick break in Jacob Sullivan hearing. We just heard part 5, I believe, of his confession. Not much new, just more details on how he raped and murdered 14yo Grace Packer.

LaurieMasonSchroeder‏Verified account @LehighCourts 1m1 minute ago
For some reason, Sullivan kept calling the detectives back into his hospital room to add details. Later, at the police station, he asked to trade his cooperation for protective custody in jail, instead of genera population bc of “the kid stuff”

LaurieMasonSchroeder‏Verified account @LehighCourts 8m8 minutes ago
Sullivan said Kate Albright, the third member of he and Sara Packer’s 3-way romantic relationship, didn’t know about the rape and murder, didn’t know Grace’s body was in the attic of the Richland rental house they shared.

LaurieMasonSchroeder‏Verified account @LehighCourts 7m7 minutes ago
Sullivan and Albright we’re attempting to conceive a child at the time of Grace’s murder.

LaurieMasonSchroeder‏Verified account @LehighCourts 6m6 minutes ago
Sullivan said Sara Packer did not physically participate in his rape of Grace. “She was enjoying herself voyeuristically” he said.

LaurieMasonSchroeder‏Verified account @LehighCourts 5m5 minutes ago
Story so far is here - not all details from hearing fit for a family newspaper tho.

Another short break in the Jacob Sullivan case. We just saw videos of Sullivan and Sara Packer arriving at the hospital after their suicide attempt in December 2016. Sullivan arrive by ambulance, clearly incapacitated. Sarah arrived two hours later in Kayde all breeds car

Holy talk to text. Kate Albright’s car.

On the video, Packer appeared conscious. Both supposedly took handfuls of pills as part of a suicide pact

Packer is scheduled to testify tomorrow morning.

Jacob Sullivan recording: 'I've always been kind of a closet rapist'

Mar 19, 2019

"...In the Bucks County courtroom, a registered nurse tearfully explained how her patient, Jacob Sullivan, who had tried killing himself, confessed that he killed Grace Packer.

Sullivan agreed to let detectives record their conversation and jurors heard their conversation tape Tuesday....

As of noon Tuesday, the jury had listened to more than an hour's worth of Sullivan's story, which included details about how the pair later cut up Grace Packer's body in the bathroom and drove her remains to Luzerne County.

The audio recording continues Tuesday afternoon, and Sara Packer is expected to testify.

The penalty phase, which started Friday, is expected to take about two weeks.

The jury of 10 women and six men will have to decide if Sullivan will face life in prison or the death penalty."

Project PA | Prosecution presents key evidence in Grace Packer murder case (with clip)

March 19th 2019

"...Before the prosecution rested their case, they presented their final pieces of evidence: several recorded confessions from Jacob Sullivan himself, just hours before he was formally charged with kidnapping, torturing, killing and dismembering Grace.

As Sullivan laid on top of a bound and gagged Grace, his arms tightly wrapped around her neck, he told her, “Just go, honey. Just go. It’s time to go.”

Those words were just a fraction of what the jury heard inside the courtroom today, as the prosecution played several audio recordings of Sullivan describing to detectives how he killed the young girl in a hot attic in July 2016....

Wednesday is expected to be a big day in this case. Packer is expected to testify."

“First break this morning in the Jacob Sullivan sentencing hearing, and it has been an emotionally devastating morning.”
11:05 AM 3/20/19

“Sara Packer has not yet been called to the stand, but her lawyer is standing by so we believe that will be soon. So far Grace’s cousin that she stayed with in North Carolina and her grandparents have testified.”

“As photos of Grace at the beach, I had her first birthday party after the Packers adopted her, by the pool, were shown to the jury on a large screen the relatives testified about how much they missed her.”

“Her grandfather Warren Packer, brought jurors to tears as he described Grace and her younger brother enjoying happy weekends at their home riding bikes. ‘We will never see that happy little girl giggle again.’”

“The relative described how Grace was in a Treatment center for troubled teens and Sarah packer didn’t visit or call her once. Staff at Warwick House Eventually called relatives because Grace did not need to be there and her mother wouldn’t return their calls.”

“Graces grandmother described having words with Sara packer after hearing packer tell the teen ‘you were only with me because no one else wanted you.’”

“Evelyn packer said Sara never bought her daughter new clothing but made her wear hand-me-downs that were ‘overused and ready for the ragbag.’”

“Jacob Sullivan listen to the testimony and looked at the pictures. He had no reaction.”

“District attorney Matt Weintraub also addressed some of the legal issues that prevented him from seeking the death penalty against Sara packer. At the time he offered a plea deal he said he did not know the nature of her involvement.”

“Do you qualify for capital punishment, Sara had to be the primary actor in the rape and murder of grace. The law does not allow for an accomplice to receive the death penalty.”

“There looks to be several more relatives who may testify. We may hear from Sara after that.”

“Lunch break in Jacob Sullivan sentencing hearing. We just heard the victim impact statement of Josh Packer, Grace's younger brother. As you may recall, previous witnesses have testified about how much Grace loved Josh, that he was her ‘world.’”
LaurieMasonSchroeder on Twitter

Josh was not in the courtroom. Detective Cindy Pettinato, the Abington detective who began the investigation into Grace's disappearnce, read Josh's statement.”
LaurieMasonSchroeder on Twitter

“Josh asked jurors to make Grace as a hero and ‘to help kids when they cannot help themselves....if all of you do this it makes Grace’s life have value, and it will help me heal,’ he wrote.”
LaurieMasonSchroeder on Twitter

“‘I want everyone here to make sure you watch out for all the kids,’ Josh wrote. He said he and his sister had a ‘hard life’ and she would have wanted to help children like them.”
LaurieMasonSchroeder on Twitter

“‘If she was told she could have saved lives...she would say, what do I have to do.’”
LaurieMasonSchroeder on Twitter

“‘Today, Grace can become a hero,’ Josh wrote.”
LaurieMasonSchroeder on Twitter

“Josh's statement, and other relatives' victim impact letters, were read while photos of Grace were displayed on a big screen in the courtroom. In one photo, she was sitting in the cab of her uncle's big rig truck laughing hysterically.”
LaurieMasonSchroeder on Twitter

“Grace's aunt explained that Grace was amused because her uncle was raising and lowering the seat in the cab, but no matter how low he put it Grace's feet never touched the floor. Her face was pure joy in the photo.”
