Can’t believe he has confessed after all that. After taking the stand and lying through his teeth and putting the family through the horrendous details. Too late for leniency now.

At least now the conspiracy theories can stop. Hopefully Toni can move on with her life without rumours of involvement.

Even the doctors don’t want to get into his head. Maybe he should of used his time wisely on the stand to give details of his past abuse rather than blame everyone but himself. And actually given everything even if he was abused as a child it’s actually really rude and insensitive to victims on here who have been subject to abuse and have never lifted their hands to another individual. There's a difference between a sexual abuse victim and a psychopath who is sexually abused as a child.

The non psychopathic victim is able to feel empathy and would more than likely not wish to inflict the same fate on another child ...

Where as, the victim with psychopathic thinking - feels no empathy and to them it's just 'learned behaviour' ...

It's vital that there are people who want to understand people like Aaron Campbell because without them, we just end up with lynch mobs and nothing learned which prevents nothing.

Empathy and a desire to understand is NOT sympathy.

Girlfriend of Alesha's dad sobs

Toni McLachlan - the girlfriend of Alesha MacPhail’s dad - was seen sobbing in the public gallery as the court was reminded she played absolutely in the youngster’s killing.

Campbell had tried to pin the murder on the young woman and claimed they had sex and Ms McLachlan planted his semen on Alesha.

But the jury saw through his lies.

Ms McLachlan previously told the court she had nothing to do with the murder and that she loved Alesha “to pieces.”

It was revealed at the beginning of today’s hearing that during background reports, the teen he confessed to the brutal killing.

Campbell slammed by judge

Lord Matthews has slammed Aaron Campbell’s “arrogance”, “staggering lack of remorse” and the “tissue of lies” he gave.

He said Campbell showed no flicker of emotion throughout the trial and during background reports.

He continued that the reports paint a “clear picture of a callous, cold and dangerous individual”.

Lord Matthews added that no sentence passed would alleviate the anguish of Alesha’s family.
