She's been charged with conspiracy in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.

Sodus woman, husband to face trial together in double murder case

Jury selection in the trial against Childers and Dean is now scheduled for May 15. The judge scheduled the trial to last two weeks.

"Unlike a typical trial where one DA and one defense attorney questions a witness, they'll most likely be questioned by myself and then two defense attorneys," said prosecutor Christine Callanan.

"Just based on that alone and separate proof that may apply to one and not the other, it makes the trial a little more in depth," she said.

Second suspect pleaded guilty in Sodus double murder case

Lyons, N.Y. (WHAM) - Charlene Childers, one of three people arrested as part of a double murder investigation in Sodus last October, pleaded guilty to manslaughter and weapons charges on Tuesday.
[.....]
After the plea hearing, defense attorney Rome Canzano said Childers' apologies were considered during the plea negotiation process.

"Very briefly and very humbly I will say they there are few that express more remorse than her," Canzano said. "And that played a factor in her decision."

Childers is scheduled to be sentenced on June 27 at 9:30 a.m. in Wayne County Court.

Judge rules statements made by Sodus double murder suspect can't be used at trial (with clip)

Apr 24, 2019

"....In a hearing in March, attorneys reviewed video of interviews of Dean by Texas Rangers, the FBI and Wayne County Sheriff's Office. During the interviews, Dean didn't admit to the murders, but his attorney said he made statements that weren't voluntary. Dean's defense argued the video shouldn't be allowed at trial because Dean was never read his rights.

The judge agreed, ruling the evidence as inadmissible for trial. However, statements Dean made to Kansas deputies will be allowed.

Dean remains in Wayne County Jail. His trial is expected to start in May."
