Police fear for missing Gatineau man Ian Lambert

Gatineau, Que., police say they have reason to worry about missing public servant Ian Lambert after the 45-year old vanished more than two weeks ago.

Lambert was last seen leaving a house party in the western part of the Plateau district at about 9 p.m. on Feb. 16.

Information collected so far has given police "reason to fear for his health and safety," says Const. Renée-Anne St-Amant.

One month since Gatineau man's disappearance - OttawaMatters.com

A Gatineau man, who may have been last seen in Ottawa one month ago, has still not been found.

Ian Lambert, 45, left a house party in Hull's Plateau neighbourhood on foot, February 16. Lambert's friends say his phone was pinged on the Champlain bridge later that night, but has not been active since.

There were reported sightings of Lambert in the Wellington Street area of Hintonburg, February 17 and 18.

Gatineau police tell 1310 NEWS, there's no update at this time and they are still searching for Lambert.

The disappearance of Lambert, an executive in the public service, has left his friends and family concerned about his safety. A Facebook page is trying to spread information about Lambert's disappearance, and to urge people to pass along any tips they may have to the police.

Anyone with information on Lambert's whereabouts is urged to contact Gatineau police at 819-246-0222.

Has the body of water below the bridge been searched for Ian's body.
Another incident of a man goes missing and a body of water nearby.
I am assuming there is a body of water below the bridge not familiar with geography of the area.

@ Siliconrod Yes, the Champlain Bridge goes over the Ottawa River and connects Ottawa and Gatineau. I haven't seen anything about searching the water.

If he walked on foot from the Plateau area, across the bridge and was later spotted in the Wellington Street area of Hintonburg, according to google maps, that is an almost two hour walk in the freezing cold of February.

If this sighting of Ian is reliable would there be any reason why he would be in this area such as family or friends. Has Ian frequented this area before. Is the Wellington street area a residential, commercial, industrial or entertainment district or a combination of them. If Ian didn't walk for two hours he might used a ride sharing service or a taxi. I hope Ian's family and/or LE have researched his credit/bank card activity during this time. Ian has been missing for six weeks and this doesn't bode well for a positive outcome. Ian's family needs some type answers soon.

Rest In Peace Ian.

Wonder why it took so long to find him.

Edit: maybe because the snow is finally almost all gone.
