Police: Lynchburg man missing, family concerned for his welfare

Lynchburg Police are seeking the public's assistance in locating a missing man.

They said the family of 28-year-old Nathan William Faidley reported him missing around 7 p.m. Sunday.

Police said they and Faidley's family are concerned for his welfare.

He is described as a white man, standing 6-feet tall, weighing 210 pounds.

According to police, Faidley last spoke to family or friends on March 1 in the 2100-block of Westerly Drive and has not been seen since.

His only mode of transportation is walking or obtaining rides.

Lynchburg police search for missing man

From the article:

Bryan said investigators turned their focus to Big Island last week after the investigation revealed he may be in the area. A LPD news release issued Thursday evening said detectives had tracked the location of Faidley’s cell phone to Big Island, where it was showing as inactive.

A “cursory search” by detectives from Lynchburg and Amherst and Bedford counties, as well as the use of a drone to view inaccessible areas, was conducted. When that proved unsuccessful, the coordination of a much larger search along both sides of the James River was initiated.
