Police in El Dorado are asking for the public's help in finding a missing 59-year-old man.

Kevin Bidwell was last see the evening of Saturday, November 3. The police department said on Facebook that Bidwell has been staying at El Dorado Lake.

Bidwell stands 5-foot-10, weighs 180 pounds, has brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information is asked to contact either Det. Lt. Maggie Schreiber with the El Dorado Police Department, (316) 321-9100, or Det. Monty Hughey with the Butler County Sheriff's Office, (316) 322-4254.

Family hoping for El Dorado man's safe return
Bidwell lives at a camp site near Eldorado Lake. He was last seen in town on November 3.

Marrs has many fond memories of her uncle; some are of him coming for Thanksgiving. She says not only does he mean the world to her, but it means the world to her to so something in her father's honor.

The El Dorado Police Department, Butler County Sheriff's Office and the Kansas Chapter of Texas EquuSearch that also helped look for Lucas Hernandez have all helped in the search.

"It's time that we all get back out there and we start doing what Lucas brought us together to do,” said Julie LaForce, Kansas Chapter of Texas EquuSearch member. "I've said it time and time again, we're mothers; we don't leave our family out in the cold. We bring 'em home"

Kansas Chapter of Texas EquuSearch member Cortney Rader added, "It would have to be hard to have a family member missing and not have people look for them."

Many questions, but few answers. Kansas authorities are now waiting on DNA results to identify the body found at El Dorado State Park on Saturday.

For one family the discovery hit close to home. They believe the body is that of their missing relative, who went missing in the area last year.

Allison Smith says it's been five and a half months since her father was last seen. She didn't know if she would ever know what happened until last Saturday. ...

“The body that was found was badly decomposed and we reached out to a member of the Bidwell family and we’ve been provided DNA,” Butler County Sheriff Kelly Herzet advised.
