I dont understand this very last statement in this link. Does this mean that LE had him in custody recently and let him go?

Kudos to the girls that smashed him with the bottle and getting away.

They obviously put a hurt on him enough to get away. The thing I fear is if LE does not arrest him before he does this again then the next victim may be in serious danger. Because the perp may take out revenge on his next victim.

It is urgent that LE catches this monster.

The Ministry of Justice is reportedly conducting an 'urgent review' into the decision to release McCann, according to the BBC.

His release should have been decided by the Parole Board as he was subject to an indeterminate sentence but it was incorrectly treated as a 'determinate sentence' with an automatic release, the BBC reports.

Joseph has been spotted in the local area.

I heard from a friend in Watford that he had been spotted outside a primary school yesterday. The primary school was then apparently put into lockdown and a helicopter search was launched. This hasn't been mentioned in any mainstream media so there's no proof that it's true...

However, this did happen in Watford yesterday...

Suspected rapist and abductor Joseph McCann 'in standoff with police'

Fugitive Joseph McCann, who is wanted in connection with a number of rapes and abductions of women, is believed to be in a standoff with police.

Cheshire police, who were looking for McCann after two women were kidnapped, say they have "located a man in connection with the incident".

They added: "The man has been secured by officers in a rural area of Congleton and is currently talking to trained negotiators."

Police have not confirmed that the man they are speaking to is McCann.

Does anyone know when in February he was released from prison? I've found reports that it was Feb 2017 when he finished a 10 year sentence for robbery (I think) but also read it was this Feb that he was wrongfully released.

On Sunday, 5 May at around 0800hrs. A woman aged in her thirties was falsely imprisoned at a location in Haslingden, Lancashire. In the same incident a teenage girl and boy, aged 11, were raped.

On Sunday 5 May at around 1330hrs, a woman aged 71 was abducted and raped in Bury, Manchester.

On Sunday 5 May at around 15.30hrs in Heywood. Manchester, two 13-year-old boys and 13-year-old girl were abducted. The 13-year-old girl was sexually assaulted.

Two teenage girls were forced into a car in Congleton, Cheshire on the afternoon of Sunday, 5 May. They were not sexually assaulted.

On Sunday 5, May at around 1830hrs, two 14-year-old girls were forced into a car in Congleton, Cheshire. They were not sexually assaulted.
