No wonder that poor baby is in the condition he is in. Those brain dead people that strangled her, then more than likely cut the baby out of her were too dumb to know that once she died the baby no longer had oxygen.

I agree. It says her cause of death was strangulation and then the baby was removed. So, the baby was removed after she had died.

The two struggled and Crews said she shoved LaFontaine-Greywind to the floor, where she hit her head and fell unconscious.

Then, using a utility knife or some sort of blade, Crews performed a C-section on LaFontaine-Greywind, delivering a baby girl and placing the child in a bathtub.

“She was taking her first breath as her mother was taking her last,” Johnson Martinez said, referring to LaFontaine-Greywind’s daughter, Haisley Jo, who survived the forced delivery.

This is just awful, awful, awful. Thank goodness the baby is alive, but how sad to lose a mother that way.

Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan signed "Laura and Reid's" law Monday.

Howard County teacher Laura Wallen was pregnant with a baby boy that she planned to name Reid when investigators said her boyfriend, Tyler Tessier, killed her in 2017. Tessier killed himself while awaiting trial.

The new law toughens sentences for violent crimes against pregnant women. Wallen's parents were at the bill signing Monday.

"If this helps another woman in the state of Maryland, then we will have honored Laura, and so it's not as much about healing as it is about honoring Laura and honoring Reid," said Wallen's mother, Gwen Wallen...."
