A Baltimore, Maryland man who was visiting Hoboken with friends last weekend has been reported missing, Hoboken police said.

Jaime Kwebetchou, 27, an Air Force veteran, was last seen on May 4 at 12:15 a.m. at the Wicked Wolf Tavern, located at 120 Sinatra Drive, Hoboken Lt. Edgardo Cruz said. He was wearing a white T-shirt, black leather jacket and blue jeans at the time.

Kwebetchou is described as 5-foot-10 and 175 pounds, with a thin muscular build and afro style hair (cut short on the sides).

Friends and family have not heard from Kwebetchou since May 4, Cruz said. He was initially reported missing with the Baltimore Police Department.

Anyone with information as to his whereabouts is asked to call Det. Arturo Gonzalez at 201-420-2132 or email at gonzalezar@hobokenpd.org

Friends have said on social media that Kwebetchou’s cell phone is dead and that there has been no activity on his bank account.

Looks like photos of him from the day he went missing.

ETA, can someone bring over the photos of him in his leather jacket and jeans from the finding page to post here?

Right by the water.

Exactly. Hoboken has a very long waterfront, on the Hudson River across from Manhattan. That tavern (all of them in Hoboken) can be a hopping place in the evening, especially a weekend and Cinco de Mayo celebrations going on Fri-Sun.

Do we know if he left the WW alone? He was there with friends? Did they leave with him or see him leave? Were they staying in Hoboken or across the river in NYC perhaps? Need some more info.

This tavern is very close to Hoboken Terminal, which provides transportation on NJ Transit - back into NJ and anywhere from there, north into NYC Penn Station and South to Trenton, NJ...and also to Manhattan via PATH (34th St line and World Trade Line). There are def cameras there because I travel through there a lot when visiting my daughter and have seen them. If he boarded a train, it would be on surveillance.

Cameras along the waterfront as well - several restaurant/taverns, businesses, preschools...it should be fairly easy to catch a glimpse of him.

Sorry to hear this. I was trying to figure a reason not to go in that direction, but honestly, there have been several cases of men leaving bars in Hoboken late at night and ending up in the Hudson. It was the obvious conclusion. One time, it was a jogger. The barrier along the waterfront and around the many piers jutting and walking paths is not very high, just vertical iron fencing. Easy to hop over. Or even lean over.

RIP Jaime
