IN - Javon Blackwell, 42, Javon Jr., 12, & Jayzon, 11, fatally shot, Marion, 30 Dec 2018 *Arrests*

Javon Blackwell, 42, and his sons, Javon Jr., 12, and Jayzon, 11, were found dead in their home in the 2300 block of S. Gallatin Street on December 30.

Lemere Jones, 29, and Demetrius Jackson, 25, are each charged with three counts of murder, conspiracy to commit armed robbery and armed robbery in connection with the three deaths. Brittany Drake, 29, is charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery in connection with the murders.

Jones and Jackson have also been charged in connection with the murder of 19-year-old Maurtreyviaun Sanders on November 6.

Police have charged Jones in connection with an armed robbery at a Family Dollar on December 23, as well.

The Marion Police Department says more arrests may be forthcoming.

The investigations into all three cases are still ongoing and no other details have been released at this time.

The South Bend men charged in the triple homicide and the killing of Trey Sanders had their initial court appearances Monday and Tuesday.

Demetrius Jackson, 25, and Lemere Jones, 29, have entered initial pleas of not guilty in the homicides.

Jackson and Jones are each charged with three counts of murder in the killing of a 42-year-old Marion man, Javon Blackwell, and his 11 and 12 year old sons, Jayzon and Javon Jr., on Dec. 30. They are also both charged with armed robbery and consiracy to commit armed robbery, Level 2 and 3 felonies, respectively, in the triple homicide.

Jackson and Jones have also been charged with murder, armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery in the Nov. 6 murder of Trey Sanders, 19.

Pretrial conferences for both homicide cases have been set for April 11 in Grant County Superior Court I.

A jury trial for the two men in Sanders' homicide has been scheduled for May 13.

A jury trial for the two men triple homicide is currently set for June 10.

A third defendant arrested in the triple homicide investigation, Brittany Drake, of Marion, posted a $30,000 surety bond Monday and was released from the Grant County Jail.

Drake, 29, is charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery in connection with the triple homicide.

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Brittany Drake after she skipped a court hearing Monday, Deputy Prosecutor Jamie Moore said.

Drake is one of three defendants charged in the Dec. 30 triple homicide that left Javon Blackwell and his two sons dead.

She faces a Level 3 felony charge of conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

For Troy Sanders case: Pretrial hearing on 8/8, trial starts 9/9. For Robbery, possession firearms pretrial conference hearing on 8/22, trial starts 9/23.
*Demetrius Jemere Jackson (25) arrested & charged (1/28/19) with 3 counts of murder, conspiracy to commit armed robbery & armed robbery in connection with 3 deaths. Plead not guilty. Held without bond.
For Troy Sanders Case: Pretrial conference hearing on 8/15, trial scheduled for 9/9.
