Texas transgender woman seen in videotaped attack found dead | The Star
"DALLAS - A 23-year-old transgender woman seen on a widely circulated video being beaten in front of a crowd of people was found dead over the weekend in a Dallas shooting, police said.

Muhlaysia Booker was found face-down in a street early Saturday and no suspect has been identified, police Maj. Vincent Weddington said Sunday. She was pronounced dead at the scene."

From the article posted above: “There is no apparent link to the April 12 beating Booker suffered after she was involved in a minor traffic accident . A police affidavit released at the time said Booker accidentally backed into a vehicle before the driver of that vehicle pointed a gun at her and refused to let her leave unless she paid for the damage”

Oh my goodness. I am so sorry for this woman. The violent attack in April seems so gruesome and base.

And, then vigilante justice-- pointing a gun at someone and demanding money or you will shoot. What is wrong with people?

"As temperatures again began to stretch toward 100 degrees on July 29, 2015, Dallas police were called to a vacant field along a short residential street between Stemmons Freeway and Harry Hines Boulevard.

Someone had found a corpse that had been left for so long beneath the summer's sun, investigators were unable to determine the victim's race. The body had only faded tattoos, among them a heart bearing the name "Willie" on the right shoulder and the name "Shade" inked on the right calf.

When police issued a news release a week later, they said the deceased wore a blue-and-white cotton tube top with straps, blue shorts, a black wig, sunglasses. Also: "The victim had false fingernails with what appeared to be diamond studs on them with pink tips."

Cops, too, identified the corpse as male. And in the days that followed, that would become a point of much dispute between police and transgender-rights activists who added the name Shade Schuler to the list of transgender women killed in Dallas."
"That list includes 43-year-old Janette Tovar, who was beaten to death by her boyfriend in north Oak Cliff in 2012 — a crime for which 29-year-old Jonathan Stuart Kenney received only 10 years' probation. It's a list that includes 26-year-old Karla Patricia Flores-Pavón, found strangled to death in her North Dallas apartment one year ago.

And it's a list that now includes 22-year-old Muhlaysia Booker, who was found shot to death in the street near Tenison Park Golf Course Saturday, just weeks after widely circulated video showed a group of men savagely beating her at an east Oak Cliff apartment complex."
Booker was the fourth trans woman killed in the country this year, just one day before a fifth was shot to death in Philadelphia.

In the October case, 29-year-old Brittany White was found fatally shot in a vehicle parked in the 7100 block of Gayglen Drive, near South Jim Miller Road, in southeast Dallas....

In the April attack, a 26-year-old transgender woman was repeatedly stabbed and left for dead just after 8 a.m. April 13 in the 2800 block of Troy Street, in South Dallas. The woman survived and provided information about her attacker, but police have not released a detailed description of the man. ...

Quan Booker, Muhlaysia Booker's aunt, said she thinks her niece's being transgender had nothing to do with her being killed.

"This was personal," she said.

She said her niece would never have gotten into a car with someone she didn't know well.

She said she believes police are trying to connect the cases to "satisfy the public." ..."

Mulhasysia's family seems very sure that this is not an isolated incident.

"....Police have said they have no information tying 29-year-old Edward Thomas to Booker's killing. Thomas was charged and indicted on an aggravated assault charge after police say he admitted beating up Booker on April 12 at the Royal Crest Apartments in east Oak Cliff....

Thomas' attorneys, Andrew W. Wilkerson and Michael Campbell Jr., said in a statement that their client had "absolutely nothing to do" with Booker's death. They also said the April 12 incident was not a hate crime and offered condolences to Booker's family...."

Dallas police enlist help of FBI after second transgender woman killed in 2 weeks

"Dallas police say they are "concerned" and have asked the FBI for help after a second transgender woman was slain in two weeks. Chynal Lindsey, 26, was found dead Saturday with "obvious signs of homicidal violence," Dallas police chief U. Renee Hall said at a Monday press conference. CBS DFW reports Lindsey's body was pulled from White Rock Lake.

Lindsey's murder comes just two weeks after another Dallas transgender woman, Muhlaysia Booker, was found shot to death on a road bordering a golf course less than a mile from where Lindsey's body was recovered....

Hall said the FBI can help local investigators determine whether either crime was motivated by hate. In a statement Monday, the FBI said they are working with Dallas Police and are prepared to assist if any federal civil rights violations are determined...."

Muhlayshia Booker's body was found on near the Ferguson Rd exit of I30. White Rock Lake is minutes from here and also easily accessible from Loop 12, which intersects with I30. Loop 12 intersects with South Jim Miller Rd a short distance from where Brittany White was found in October. The location of the attack on the woman in April is an intersection away from the Dolphin Rd exit of I30, the exit immediately after Ferguson Rd.
It seems as though the cases are connected.
"Police said two of the victims had gotten into a car with someone, and the third had let someone into her car. Also, police said two of the women had been near Spring Avenue and Lagow Street just before the attacks."

Spring Ave intersects with Dolphin Rd a little over a mile from where the women were near.

Keeping an eye out in case he or she travels around.
