More charges expected for ex-NFL player in Las Vegas girl’s death
A former NFL player is expected to face 10 new charges in the death of a 5-year-old girl, prosecutors said Tuesday.
Cierre Wood, 28, already faces a charge of first-degree murder along with nine counts of child abuse.
Chief Deputy District Attorney Michelle Jobe is expected to argue for the 10 new child abuse counts at a Wednesday hearing. The possible addition came after a lengthy preliminary hearing Tuesday in which a Clark County medical examiner testified that La’Rayah Patra Nicole Lamont Davis, the daughter of Wood’s girlfriend, Amy Taylor, had scratches and bruises over her entire body along with contusions on her organs and fractures to most of her ribs.

In early April, the five-year old daughter of former Notre Dame and NFL running back Cierre Wood’s girlfriend was died unexpectedly. Both Wood and the mother, Amy Taylor, have been officially indicted on murder and child abuse charges.

Bail set at $500K for ex-NFL player accused in 5-year-old’s death
A judge set bail at $500,000 on Wednesday for a former professional football player charged with murder in the death of his girlfriend’s 5-year-old daughter.
In setting the bail for 28-year-old Cierre Wood, District Judge Michael Villani pointed to “at least 100” bruises on the body of 5-year-old La’Rayah Patra Nicole Lamont Davis. The girl also suffered 20 broken ribs, a lacerated liver, along with contusions on other vital organs.

Wood and the girl’s mother, Amy Taylor, 26, both face a charge of first-degree murder along with 20 counts of child abuse.
Taylor remains in Clark County Detention Center without bail.
