Iowa City Police ask for the public's help locating a man last seen in the downtown area.

Police say 21-year-old Nikolai "Niko" Stielow was last seen on Saturday, May 25 in the downtown area of Iowa City, where he fled from his family.

Stielow is a described as a white male, 5 feet, 5 inches tall, weighing approximately 200 pounds.

He was last seen wearing black pants with a black shirt and black hat with an American flag on it.

Authorities say Stielow has Autism and is in need of his medications.

Anyone with further information about his whereabouts is urged to call Iowa City Police at 319-356-6800.

"After days of searching for Nikolai “Niko” Stielow, authorities believe they found the 21-year-old’s body.

The body was found Wednesday afternoon by officials assisted by K-9s in a heavily wooded area in northern Iowa City, south of Whiting Avenue and west of Kimball Road, according to a news release from the Iowa City Police Department. Stielow, who is autistic, had been missing since Saturday after fleeing from his family while in the downtown area, according to police.

Preliminary information shows no signs of foul play, police said. The cause of death will be determined following an investigation and an autopsy by the Johnson County medical examiner."

Iowa City and Coralville Fire departments have discovered what is believed to be the body of missing Nikolai “Niko” Stielow.

The body was found in a heavily wooded area south of Whiting Avenue and west of Kimball Road around 1 P.M. Wednesday afternoon.

Preliminary information shows no signs of foul play, however, a final determination as to the cause of the death will be made after a complete investigation. An autopsy will be conducted by the Johnson County Medical Examiner.
