It says LE are using search and forensics experts, but there are all kinds of areas that latter could be investigating.
Ok so if search specialists aren't of the IT kind then clearly LE are searching for something elsewhere. Thats worrying because the trail must be very cold by now

I wonder how much of Barmston Drain and the River Hull were searched before the drone was crashed?

Maybe the searches of the river from the air were not as thorough as they would have liked. Iirc the helicopter was mainly focused on searches of the immediate park area, the drone was crashed 4th Feb so pretty early on.

I accept there may have been access to another drone, but i wonder what, if any, impact this had on air searches of the waterways?

LE never asked person/persons in vid to come forward, neither did they for running man in park (surely a star witness if its not PR) and again heathcote/wellesley screams no plea for them to come forward. is this not a bit odd or did LE already know this could have been PR, LIBBY AND ACCOMPLICE. jmo.
Those people might have responded quickly to the publicity about Libby's disappearance. If they had already come forward as witnesses, the police wouldn't have needed to make specific appeals.
IIRC we only know about those incidents via people who talked to the media - not from the police.

Just like @Vermont24 I’m checking in from time to time but without covering old ground it feels as though there’s nothing new to discuss.

I appreciate the case is complex, but this long timespan since PRs initial arrest, and LE still not releasing Libby’s body to her family doesn’t fill me with confidence. For me it doesn’t feel as though they’re making the case watertight ... it feels as though they’re struggling to come up with a case against him at all. Just MOO.

For me, he acted alone. I don’t believe he had an accomplice. I think it’s a fantasy that he’s played out in his mind and the perfect opportunity (very sadly) arose. He was fortunate with the weather and lots of other very tragic, circumstantial events that put Libby there that night - unfortunately in a state where she could not have put up much of a fight.

Does anybody know what happens on June 18th? Is the hearing in Hull? Is it about the flashing / trespassing? And is this appearance to set out the charges against him and to ask him for his final plea?

@Audiohoney Taken this from older online Hull Daily Mail I looked it up about hearings June 18th is a meeting before the actual trial fir the crimrd hes bern chstgef with untrlsyrf to LS .This next hearing in June
might be to make arrangements as to how the trial will be conducted "Your next court appearance will be June 18. You are remanded in custody and you will be taken to Sheffield for that hearing and for your trial in August"
It's a hearing gir the nuts and bolts of sorting trial requirements possibly
Was there something stated earlier in court appearances by PR about him possiibly appearing in the June 18th hearing via link or was that changed?

Pawel Relowicz denies new charge - everything that happened in court

I'm also feel like just going round in circles covering old ground but from a different angle.

I don't think the basic case you outline is complex (and I agree totally with your premise that it's something he will have fantasised about). What little WE here know is good circumstantial evidence for that scenario. LE will have far more - how else would they got extensions to hold him. So that doesn't strike me as a complex case.

So IMOO something else must be complicating the case. I agree with you in that I also think he fantasised about what happened. So perhaps LE are gathering evidence for this to go for murder? Or he had a pal he shared those fantasies with who helped him. No normal person would help with the disposal of a young woman's body unless they were involved would they?

I really wish they would get their breakthrough or whatever they need to find out exactly what happened here for the family and the police sake also the people of Hull
I would have thought if they know for sure he picked her up,that alone would be enough to hold him the maximum time for questioning...all his computer and phone forensics would have been back months ago I would have thought, I just dont get it at all ..not unless they have him freely admitting to picking her up from the word go and they cant bridge the gap from a claim by him he dropped her off

I'm not sure computer forensics would have been back quickly.

I'm sure he's denied all the existing charges against him as well so I'm not sure his story alone would be a barrier. Convicted criminals give unbelievable stories all the time.

The liklihood of her randomly coming across another creep in a cold dark empty park is very low.

If it were a simple case I'm sure there would be more than enough to charge him already. So in my opinion, and only my opinion, I think something else significant is complicating this. The only things I can think of are an accomplice that LE are trailing and not wanting to alert or a long computer search to move it to murder. I can't think of anything else.

Yes, they're such beautifully chosen words and the exchange shows what a wonderful affinity they had for each other as mum and daughter!

As far as the investigation goes, it still sounds like LE have a lot more to get through and are taking care not to miss anything crucial. There's still 2 months to the court case for the various alleged offences. I wonder if other allegations are under consideration and if so how will they be fitted in to the overall process. Maybe next week's hearing at Sheffield will provide some pointers. Hopefully some further progress in the complex LS investigation will be announced soon.

Thanks for this EA. It sounds as though proceedings from here on in will take place in Sheffield. Unless, as you say, video link is decided upon. I know we had a couple of WS members attending the Hull court dates ... is anyone considering attending at Sheffield? I’m intrigued to know if his demeanour or appearance have changed.

@Newthoughts I’ve read with interest your theories on accomplice involvement. I don’t believe this could be a friend or family member helping him out - it’s an awful lot to ask somebody to cover up. Whilst it seems unlikely that he’d cross paths with a fellow pervert / fantasist in every day life, I do think the dark web or social media would perhaps present an opportunity to meet somebody in the same frame of mind. Nevertheless I’m still convinced he acted alone. His previous alleged crimes make him sound like a perverted loner. Creeping around, spying, taking chances ... I think this fantasy went one (big) step further that awful night.

Police divers speak for first time on desperate Libby Squire search

Police divers have spoken of the long and difficult search to find Libby Squire for the first time.

Teams from Humberside Police’s underwater search and marine unit became something of a fixture at Oak Road playing fields in north Hull in the days after the University of Hull student disappeared.

@Audihoney I think scrolling back Joelle88 was there at the hearing(s) at Hull I belive Joelle88 is local to the area I think.

@Vermont24 Hull Live have done excellent reporting keeping LS news updated
Is it possible that two recent articles about the initial search for LS might be leading up to bigger news very soon?

I'm wondering the same - especially coming straight after the new public post from her mother.

@Audiohoney I agree it seems far more likely he'd have acted alone and I don't think any half decent friend or relative would help cover that up unless involved as a participant. I just can't think of any other way to explain the delays and the fact they are saying Libby's body is still a clue. Computer searches alone would not require that

The hard part is working out where you'd find someone that vile with similar ideas.
