GUILTY TX - Maleah Davis, 4, Houston, 5 May 2019 *EX-FIANCÉ ARRESTED* #12

Timeline - Update #9

July 10, 2018 BB took Maleah to the ER because she was throwing up blood. Doctors reported Maleah was "extremely lethargic." Maleah was treated and released. [35]

July 28, 2018 BB contacted BB2, who was in LA, and stated that Maleah had fallen from a tall chair to a marble table. BB2 advised BB to take Maleah to the hospital. At the hospital, Maleah was observed with a laceration to the forehead. BB denied vomiting or abnormal behavior from Maleah. She also denied seizures or lethargy in the medical record. Maleah's forehead laceration was repaired. No imaging studies were reported as completed. The surgical pathology report revealed a chronic subdural hematoma displaying a prominent fibroblastic proliferation with collagen deposition, numerous small vessels, many hemosiderin-laden macrophages, and acute hemorrhage. [35]

August 1, 2018 BB2 was at work and Maleah was in the care of BB and DV, who lived in the home. BB texted BB2 that something was wrong with Maleah and that her eyes were rolling back. BB2 told BB to take Maleah to the hospital. BB2 did acknowledge that BB had to be told to take Maleah to the hospital. BB took Maleah to the hospital and she was transported to a different hospital where she had a craniectomy to relieve pressure. [35]

Medical professionals stated that the story BB and BB2 told about Maleah falling from a chair would not have caused the serious internal injuries which required half of Maleah's skull to be removed. Doctors ordered that she wear a helmet for 12-24 months while she healed. [35]

August 3, 2018 The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) received a report alleging physical abuse and neglectful supervision. [35]

August 10, 2018 It was determined that the findings of two separate injuries (frontal laceration and a second fracture to the left posterior temporal bone) indicate more than one impact to Maleah's head. [35]

August 14, 2018 The DFPS obtained TMC (temporary managing conservatorship) of all children due to concern about the safety and care of the three children in the home. [35]

I think there may be a number 10 update? Because on Thursday oh, May 2nd, the boys were seen on video without her leaving, and that is not on this revision. @PommyMommy was going to add iirc

ETA- I see that she is already on it and if I had scrolled down a few more posts I would have seen the new one also! Thanks!

Well. That sounds like a great way to plant a seed for reasonable doubt at trial. Hopefully LE and/or the DA team will be able to discredit this so-called jailhouse confidante in a clear-cut way.

I don't know. Even though I understand this comes from an inmate, there are two meetings and two dates, quite a bit of detail and a mention that DV wrote it on paper the way it sounds. I am not sure but would think it would be recorded and I would think this inmate may very well have had his attorney with. All guesses though.

LE has also not come out and denied it.

I myself cannot dismiss it as untrue. Or be sure it is true for that matter.

If he actually gave them this info, there is no discrediting him because it matches where she was found.

Maybe they did not give it credence even with a note from DV, doubted it was true?

Jmo.

Somehow I’ve missed the referenced post.....where can I find it?

So this article is saying HPD had the location information 5 days earlier and sat on it until QX came to them with the same info?
Where did the newspaper that released this get the information? Has HPD released anything on this either confirming or denying it??
Sounds to me like DV has had time to come up with another preposterous tale in this litany of lies from him.
Can this get anymore ridiculous??
1. Flu so severe it causes death.
2. Seen walking into apartment hours before dying.
3. Blood found in apartment.
4. Not allowing father and aunt to see her hours before dying.
5. Not alerting her mother or grandmother she was that sick.
6. Putting her body in a trash bag and driving to another state for disposal.
7. Creating a kidnap story.
It goes on and on. The only thing that has been truthful from DV is an approximate location of Maleah. And he couldn't even get that right!!
Am I missing something?? SMH!!

It came from if I have it right the inmate and DV's attorney. Le has refused, again if I have it right, to comment either in denial or confirmation.

Smh at well at this case and all involved pretty much.

The flu can be deadly, especially for children, the elderly and those with underlying health issues. From what I have read, influenza can rapidly turn to a fatal disease within a matter of hours. So it's not ridiculous and people should be aware of the need to monitor the flu.

That is true but when you take it with the bulk of the other stated points, it does not fit in this case. He was unconcerned apparently if she was sick, never took her in, and if from natural causes, did not need to hide of and dispose of her body, blame it on kidnappers and mostly, would not need to clean up blood.

I realize death from the flu does happen, but there are symptoms before it's deadly.
High fever, lethargy, dehydration, labored respiration, and usually a compromised immune system. But, there are symptoms!!
It still does not warrant trash bag and disposal.

Houston community activist Quanell X and the founder of Texas EquuSearch Tim Miller both made huge contributions in the search to find Maleah.

Quanell X led investigators to Maleah's remains in Arkansas after having a talk with Derion Vence, the suspect in connection to the girl's death.

Quanell said Vence told him the girl is dead and that her body was dumped off a road in Arkansas.

The revelation caused law enforcement to mobilize, with the search shifting to Hempstead County and the Hope, Arkansas area.

Miller worked hand-in-hand with investigators for at least a month, leading searches for the 4-year-old in northeast Houston, southwest Houston, Missouri City, Rosharon and Arkansas.

The rally will not only honor Quanell X and Miller, but will also send out a special prayer for children facing brutality in today's society.

Do you guys remember this rumor - when the body was found, someone said that there had already been investigators around that area of Arkansas- before Q said DV gave up the info to him. Maybe that rumor was true and due to the fact they already had the informant’s statement.

I doubt seriously that she died from illness. I can see her being badly injured over the weekend or early in the week or both, and then being left lying in her bed for however many days until she passed, most likely from another tbi in my mind. Sweet child, I hate this for her.

Ps, illness, even the flu, doesn’t explain the blood/tissue found.

I so agree.

First the conflicting stories re finding the body and who knew what and when is starting to smell. I remember well it almost seemed like Arkansas knew before it seemed they could have known. It sounds like the inmate had a general area to begin with and maybe was told to go back and try to get the definite location? In the meantime maybe some slight searches went on and Arkansas was notified earlier than we knew? Then QX swoops in and gets a confession amazingly, AFTER the inmate had a more exact location, and then a bag comes about almost before or simultaneously (with breaking news at least) before TM even headed to Arkansas with LE. And then it was struck?? Odd, the entire thing.

QX also took credit for the arrest of DV/something to do with talking to the brother while LE said it was due to other things including changing statements and the video of DV not walking but being dropped off. I guess both things could work together but...

No flu explains the blood, I agree.

The one thing we do know is she was ambulatory on Tuesday and apparently rode with to day care/school drop-offs for the boys.

I absolutely remember. I just saw it again recently. The report said it was near Hope AR, but as it turned out it was the Fulton exit a few miles West.
I think it was in the video of the Hempstead County Sheriff's the day she was located.

After a quiet week and this then coming out along with the inmate story in short order hmm... This case just continues to make me smh... And give a lot of food for thought...

I kind of hope he did confess to the inmate, in case QX's testimony is thrown out. Can't claim "coercion" with another inmate.

I agree. In the one sense, if two people can confirm the body location came from DV the better. The rest of it though is sure something to wonder about...
