Deputies are asking for the public’s help in finding a 74-year-old man who was last seen at his Salem-area apartment nearly two weeks ago.
On June 4, Axel Johnson told his apartment manager that he was “leaving to move in with his daughter,” the Marion County Sheriff’s Office said. He left all of his belongings in the apartment and hasn’t been seen since.
Family members told the sheriff’s office that Johnson does not stay in regular contact with them, though it is highly unusual for him to be gone from his home for lengthy periods of time.
Johnson is described as about 5-foot 3-inches tall, and having blue eyes and blonde hair with streaks of gray. He typically wears glasses and is clean shaven.
The sheriff’s office said he left the apartment in his green, extended cab 1997 Ford Ranger, with Oregon license plate 365-JLW.
If you see him or have any helpful information, contact deputies at (503) 798-5718.
