He would have bled quite a bit. Since he had a recent stroke it is almost certain he was on blood thinners and that would prevent clotting.

True. It will be interesting to see if he is in court today. If he cut his carotid artery or jugular vein, he would likely still be in the hospital, IMO. It sounds like he was released.

I heard a few stitches. Most likely flesh wound. Lets see him be smug after that. I need to make it to court one of these days. Daughter comes home today, she is a crime enthusiast too. She has been gone since before sydney went missing.

Just heard from Joe Murray, Trail's defense attorney, who addressed us and 10/11 off camera. Trail's in the process of being released from a local hospital. Got "multiple stitches" but expected to be back Tues. Type of weapon is still unclear. They think piece of razor, but ?

Testimony resumes in Loofe murder trial | Trail not in court

The trial continued (today) with witness testimony from investigators and a hotel clerk from Ames, Iowa, who reported a tip to authorities about Trail staying at the hotel.

The clerk, Jenny Bloom, worked at the Grandstay Hotel and Suites, and said Trail and his co-defendant, Bailey Boswell, stayed there for three nights.

She said the duo paid in cash, and took a photocopy of the $100 bill they used to pay, which stood out to her as odd.

She said she was on social media a few days after they checked in and saw a link her friend posted to a news story that named Trail and Boswell as persons of interest in the case of Sydney Loofe, who had been reported missing.

Trail and Boswell didn’t return to the hotel, but the tip led to a search of the room.

FBI Agent Jackie Hann, who assisted in the search of the room, was called to the stand next.

She said a duffel bag and a reusable grocery bag were left behind, and inside the duffel bag was a ball cap and at least four sex toys.

She added the television was left on in the room, and multiple maps were found in the Walmart bag.

Another FBI Special Agent, Mike Maseth, was called next, and discussed videos posted to Facebook by Trail and Boswell while authorities were searching for them.

After the second of two videos was posted to the social media site, the FBI was able to obtain a IP address, which connected them to a burner phone. The phone pinged in Branson, Missouri, and showed the phone had called the Windmill Inn in Branson.

Johnson apparently determined what happened didn’t merit a mistrial. There was no mention of it in the open courtroom before the trial began Tuesday with a Lincoln police investigator’s brief testimony.

At the break, Trail's attorney, Joe Murray, said the issue of a mistrial was raised, but the law in Nebraska is that the defendant’s actions cannot cause a mistrial.

Asked if he was worried about what the jurors may be thinking, given what they witnessed, Murray said what Trail said wasn’t an admission of guilt.

Snipped.

I love that part. The stupid video they posted on FB led LE right to them.

This morning jurors heard about where Trail and Boswell travelled after becoming “persons of interest” is disappearance of Sydney Loofe. To motels in Spence and Ames, Iowa. Police were searching their room in Ames when they reportedly saw them

Trail and Boswell then fled to motel in Branson, MO where FBI used cell phone records to track them down

It appeared they were headed to Mexico. They had purchased Map of Texas border, and had backpacks loaded with all kinds of candy bars and foodstuffs

Adjourned for lunch a little early. Besides Aubrey Trail not being present, everything else has been pretty routine. We've heard from 5 witnesses. Much of today's testimony has focused on the search of a Branson hotel room, where Trail and Boswell were arrested on 11/30.
Probably goes a lot quicker without the dipstick there, so it helped procedure that he did that to himself yesterday. MOO
