Thank you for this post. Seems there is a sub-group of posters here who know more than others (e.g. ML's "secret" user name, "other" IG acct). Fine, but either share the info with everyone here if allowed, take it to a private conversation, or do not discuss it at all. I honestly find it rude to be discussing a secret SM account and associated hashtags, comments, images, etc. found there, among the posters here who have no clue what you are seeing, reading, and discussing.

I'm telling you, the little amount of attention they paid to the park where she was dropped off at, I am 99.9% certain they KNOW she left that area, and pretty quickly. I saw police there for maybe two hours total. I walk that park every day with my dog as well, and would have the day after it happened, have not seen anything suspicious or out of the norm.

This really surprises me since it seems like they are a close family. I don’t know any parents with the means that wouldn’t go help find their daughter. Not to victim blame, but this seems odd unless they have information as to there being no reason to worry/help.

I live in SLC. That location is not really considered to be near Liberty Park. I would be surprised to hear anybody who lives in SLC to identify it that way.

ETA I’ve seen her addresses described to near both Liberty Park and Trolley Square. The location on his map is North of both, but closer to Trolley. However, and perhaps this is because I live nearby, I have never heard anywhere north of 400 South referred to as “near Trolley Square” either. I’ve mostly heard that neighborhood described as Upper East Central (as it’s listed on NextDoor) or even Lower University Heights/University Gardens.

From what I understand, sex is usually involved. A lot of girls on sites like SA are also on sites like Tinder. I think the latter is more likely to be dangerous, especially if a 3am meeting is involved.

I took it as a sarcastic comment as well. I'm the same age as ML and regularly hear similar comments used lightly. If there was any other substantiating evidence of similar behavior from ML I'd be worried, but it seems more like a one-off comment.

Yes! The “black like my heart/soul” is definitely a common generational joke, i’d say. I’m 10 years older than Kenzie but it’s a sardonic self-deprecating phrase that I’ve seen and heard a lot (and to be honest I’m pretty sure I’ve said it as well). It’s just one of those phrases/memes/slang/what have you, that caught on with millennials. We’re a generation that seems to enjoy self-deprecating haha.

In regards to people being confused as to why sugar daddies would pay young women without the expectation of sex, I think that's the point. I don't understand it either, and I doubt the girls that do it do either... If you're a rich man, lonely or unhappy in your public relationship, and you can get any kind of satisfaction (not just sext, can just be someone to text, or make happy by buying them things) through using your money, I can see why that's a common option for these men. It's not always about sex, but it can just be about someone relying on you/expecting money from you.

But, these males don't have infinite cash incomes.

Essentially. It’s very similar to any traditional means of dating. Which is why it is emotionally charged when sex work, sadness, or lack of autonomy is suggested. That’s simply not the driving force. It’s very close to what is considered mainstream.

Sugar dating is not mainstream where I live. It's not acceptable to trade sex aka companionship for money, clothing, purses, or etc... This is not a healthy lifestyle for young women, imo.

I spoke with a friend of ML's on fb and it seems that they really can't give out any details or speak on anything. All they can say is that she is missing. I was curious at first they were thinking that she was trying to be off the grid. Did they ever say what made them think that and what cause them to change their mind?

I have to say...I am glad I am an old woman who has been married 40 years. I can not imagine the pressure of being a 20-something nowadays. School, working, dating, sugar this and sugar that, dating websites, meeting random people, hooking up, it would make my head explode and my heart hurt. Jmo
