When looking at clinical studies into the nature of adults offending against children - and when I consider the position that William was briefly in on the fateful day - I can completely see why this is thought to be an opportunistic crime.

Situational offences
Their offending is often impulsive and opportunistic.

The regressed pattern of behaviour ... Children are chosen due to their availability.
The morally indiscriminate pattern of behaviour .... Victims are chosen due to vulnerability and opportunity. These offences were characterised by stranger victims, outdoor offences, one-off offences .....
Those who engage in the inadequate behaviour pattern .... targets them because he finds them to be non-threatening.

Indeed, some offenders can be envisaged in the middle of this continuum with a preferential ... interest in children as well as an awareness of situational opportunities to offend.

(I have excluded some words in this text due to the upsetting nature of the subject, but the possibility of this being why William disappeared is very real)

I can think of one maybe two named POI's who would probably fit one of the above patterns, but whether they can be placed at the scene on the day in question is another matter. Roll on inquest. It is interesting/frightening that probably 10's to a hundred could fit the above description who may have been in the vicinity, but it really only obviously comes down to a few in the end when certain factors are eliminated, e.g. the Daniel Morcombe case. Of these named POI's, I would still be more likely to look at a child retrieval network with the other associations and information we have of other people involved in this case. Which gives me small hope that the motivations for taking WT were not sexual and that he may be alive somewhere. IMO

No need to be a professional to use phone spyware. If someone wanted to ensure success...and they have succeeded...they just needed to cover all bases.

I too have friends with knowledge of these matters.

Edited to add...dark web users know all the tricks of their trade and so do investigators that hunt them down.

So let me get this straight. Your theory about William’s disappearance consists of at least two people, with intelligence services-level phone hacking and surveillance skills, physically installing secret listening software not only on FM’s but also FF’s phones, following them to Kendall, laying in wait for the FF’s car (that they could identify through FB photos posted prior) to leave FGM’s, tracking FF’s phone by GPS, and listening in to the FM’s phone for the right time to grab William, to keep him as their own or for the dark web? Sounds like the plot of a Mission: Impossible movie.

yes i have wondered also about the child retrieval networks, and i read some of the kendall neighbours at the time believed he was taken and hidden possibly still alive and in disguise, and may be why there didnt seem to be a police warning to residents about a possible child predator in the area at the time, i wonder if that was the general feeling at the time and why?

I am told it works on phones that are switched off.

The app overrides internalized functions and the owners of the phone have absolutely no idea it is occurring. The phone gives no signals that it is hacked. The phone 'behaves' as the owner would expect not knowing it is being used by a hacker as a spy tool.

That is why security experts warn to have the highest grade security protection on mobile phones.

BBM - So if the FCer's had this high grade security it probably wouldn't be possible?

I ask this as MFC worked in IT at the time (IT Co specialising in RE), and you would think that they would have this protection.

At the inquest, the FFC stated that she didn't use her mobile much and it was not on her but left inside the house for most of the morning. MFC was expected back and regularly sends a text when he is 5 minutes away so the children can come and greet him. It was only after the FFC had noticed that WT was missing and she was looking for him around the house that she grabbed her mobile and noticed the MFC had sent her a text that he wasn't far away. I think her use of mobile phones was kind of demonstrated when it was shown she used a camera to take photos instead of her mobile. (Totally relate to her use of tech). So just some background if it means anything to anybody.

Even if she wasn't a tech person, he was and worked in the industry. Any protection on their phones would probably be done to both IMO.

From what I can remember, court actions for BS, TJ, PB, DN, APS in the high court, GJ facing charges, BM and BF, now the above mob. Insight were at the coronial inquest handing out badges in the foyer and I noticed them watching on the last day. Have I left anyone out?

Yes. Imagine any parent in a situation such as this. It must feel like you're screaming under water with nobody on the surface able to hear a thing.

It was nice to see him recognise his mothers help. I'm glad he is getting it from somewhere and let's face it, there is no greater comfort than a Mothers love. I hope this continues for him and pray the BM also has someone to love, guide and hold her too.
