KSL Investigates has uncovered new information regarding Ajayi’s involvement with the military. On his LinkedIn profile, Ajayi indicates he was employed by the U.S. Army as an Information Technology Specialist from September 2014 through June 2016.

Representatives with the Utah Army National Guard confirmed Private Ayoola Ajayi was a member of the 214th Forward Support Company based out of Tooele. However, he did not attend basic or advanced individual trainings and was discharged on June 10, 2015 after six months of service.

The Utah Army National Guard told us he could not have been a member of both the active Army and the Army National Guard at the same time. The spokesperson for the Utah Army National Guard says Ajayi’s dates don’t match official records.

FRAUD.

He lies.
He lies.
He lies.

Isn't falsifying your US military experience a crime in and of itself?

Creep.

JMO.

I didn't realize they had been aware of one another before . . . interesting. Possible that he had promised her a night out, maybe in a hotel room, a surprise, but not a return to his house, thus the pick-up in the park??
who knows what he told her... he coulda told her he was in the CIA and she wasn't allowed to know where he lives or some nonsense.

JMO

I can't help but wonder if he had created this online persona and when Kenzie realized he wasn't who he said he was she rejected him and that rejection lead to him doing the unthinkable. I believe his ex will have plenty of info to provide police. Not sleuthing her but she is lucky to be alive imo.

If a complaint is filed, you are shut down. Immediately. I have never had a bad review, but I know if you do receive them, you can be shut down if it continues (and by 'bad review', I mean...there were roaches or the sheets were dirty....not something heinous).

Airbnb does what they can, but there is also a responsibility of both the host and the guest to be decent human beings. We knew when we started it that there would always be a certain level of risk, and we do our best to mitigate that. But there is no guarantee just as if a guest checked into a hotel (as in the Las Vegas Concert Shooting) with an arsenal of weapons nobody saw. It's not the hotel's fault that a psychopath checked into their property. I would venture to say that Airbnb is almost safer in that regard, as hosts and guests are vetted at least a little bit. Anyone can check into a hotel in the room next to you and you wouldn't know them from Adam.

Does anyone have the link or a screen shot of AA's Airbnb site? I would be interested in whether or not he has guest reviews, and if so, what they are.
One thing about AirB&B, I don't see any way to post fake reviews, IE by someone who was never there like they do on tripadvisor. As a user of AirB&B I had to submit a photo, say a few words about myself, and give over my CC info before I could actually make a reservation or speak with the host. Then afterwards they encourage a person (and the host) to say something about each other. But I doubt the B&B part of his life had anything to do with this murder, JMO.

Possibly someone here mentioned they thought she had been catfished

The monster is a pathological liar...this is what some of us speculated previously ie lying about his military service.

That is EXACTLY what I was thinking. He looks completely different in those muscle shots, than his somewhat run down, puffy, mundane appearance now. What if she said, hey, wait a sec, you're not the same guy!

Yes and no one likely had all the puzzle pieces at one time, which make it more obvious in retrospect. The contractor likely knew nothing about his book or the feelings of one guest, or of his profiles, for example.
Even then, no crime was committed. So, yes, report to police but police, after conducting an assessment, will place their report (if any) into a file and do nothing further. They can't be blamed, however, because, again, no crime was committed.

At some point, we have to prepare ourselves (no matter the gender) for the possibility that we will encounter 'bad' people who want to do us wrong, because they're out there.

Does anyone know if mattress and box springs have been located? I hope that person knows how important they are to the case and not try to make money off them down the line belonging to a killer. Someone always willing to pay top dollar that’s interested in crime crap.

Exactly. When you look at them all, it does look weird. But no one saw all the incidents. And taken by themselves, they were not really of much concern.

Though it's not unusual for a man to respond to rejection with violence, I don't think this is the case here because he'd already been attempting to build what sounds like a kill room. I think he was always going to murder a woman.

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4 News) – Salt Lake City police say the search for 23-year-old Mackenzie Lueck is a digital forensic investigation.

It comes after investigators say an Instagram follow made from Mackenzie’s account played a part in leading them to the home of the person of interest.

Instagram follow leads police to home of person of interest

I bet the creep was signed into her account and was trying to deflect authorities from her being “a missing person” and trying to make others believe she was ok and that she had decided to get away as previously suggested by some. Kinda in an effort to throw things off.

Or.....maybe he didn’t even realize he had done it thinking he was signed into his account. Ha!

Either way...IMO it was ML speaking from the other side. She knew it would crack things wide open and it sure did. God bless her and God Rest her soul. Prayers to all.

ETA:

Really disturbed by this article :(
I saw this and had the same reaction - super creepy and disturbing. It made me think of Leonard Lake and Charles Ng.

I wonder if they have verified the contractor’s story and if AA ever got anyone else to do the work.

I know hindsight is 20/20, but it’s a shame the contractor wasn’t alarmed enough to report this to the police at the time. Granted, there is probably no crime in having a room like this built, but wanting the room to be sound-proof is a red flag, IMO, that whatever AA was planning to use the room for was NOT consensual S&M. Sad to think that maybe if police had gone to talk to AA it might have scared him and he wouldn’t have done this to ML. But, honestly, even if being contacted by police would have scared him, it would have only been temporary and he would have found another victim when the fear wore off.

Sorry folks ... go grab a cup of something while I try to clean this thread up. It isn't the only thread on WS but I'm the only one on right now.

Check back in 15-20 minutes, hopefully.
