The State of Alabama has issued a Child Abduction Emergency, Amber Alert. The Calhoun County, AL Sheriff’s Office and the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency ask for your assistance in locating, Catalina Chloe Rimpsey, a black female, two years of age, with black hair and brown eyes. She is 36 inches in height and weighs 31 pounds. Catalina Rimpsey was seen last at Anniston, Alabama around 11:30 AM on July 3, 2019 and is believed to be in extreme danger. Catalina has been abducted by Freddy Victory Rimpsey SR, her father. Freddy Rimpsey SR is a 75 YO black male, with black hair and brown eyes. He is 5'10 and weighs 215 pounds. Catalina may be traveling in a 1999 navy/tan Ford Econoline E150 with plate number 11FP201, possibly travelling to Chicago, IL. The Father is known to visit a store near the Alabama and Georgia state line to play the lottery on Wednesdays. I get a sinking feeling about this. I wonder what areas will receive the amber alerts... I would hope they could extend it to the area of Georgia near the lotto gas station and along I-65 up to Chicago. That would help reach all the people traveling this week/weekend who could be looking for this precious child.

How do they usually decide what range to issue an amber alert if they can’t know whether or not the child has crossed state lines?

I sure hope they can find Catalina quickly. This local newspaper added some information, which explains why there was a delay in getting the Amber Alert:

Authorities issue amber alert for Anniston girl believed abducted by father, Freddy Rimpsey

The alert order said “the Court fears that the Defendant will harm the child that is the subject of this Order due to his history of violence.”

Wright on Tuesday had granted the girl’s mother’s request for a protection from abuse order against Rimpsey; Wright’s orders said there were allegations Rimpsey had abused the mother in the child’s presence.

Also, the article continued with some background information on Mr. Rimpsey:

Freddy Rimpsey is well known in Anniston, having worked as an insurance salesman and preacher in the city as early as the mid-1970s. For almost as long, he’s been involved in groups that work with children, according to The Star’s archives; a 1979 story described Rimpsey’s efforts to operate the Anniston Cultural, Education and Recreational Foundation, which the story said had “fallen adrift.”

In 2015, his nonprofit group, the Rimpsey Foundation, which had operated a daycare and afterschool tutoring program for children and teenagers since 2011, was forced out of a building on Christine Avenue after a legal dispute with its owners. By December of the next year, Rimpsey was publicizing a Christmas gift donation drive and holiday meal.

Agreed, in this era, that bio makes me nervous. A lifelong history of working with groups of children and teens?? That's been a cover story for many pedophiles.
