No problem, thank you for the apology.
Nor me, I have added to my post above. I have my doubts about PA but I certainly don't think they, as an establishment, have ever killed anyone. For the record, I don't think they (PA or the BRF) did or would think about doing something like that. JMO, they get accused of many terrible things.
Yes, I remember the day it was reported. He had some slight marks or abrasions on the neck area. He also said another inmate attacked him during that whole debacle. That's why they had him on 'suicide watch'. I guess 'suicide watch' means you watch someone commit suicide.
I truly believe they'll say all of that stuff like they're going to do something about it. My husband was an expert medical witness consultant for some time. He was asked to investigate some suicides in prisons. It was problematic enough that the DOJ had to escort him on some cases. I remember the reports, which then became public and I could then read. Some of the inmates were hanging up high, I mean more than jumping distance high and there was nothing available in the cell at the time to even suggest suicide. So it does happen and actual suicides happen also. Tough to know when you're on the outside looking in.Sasse tells AG that 'heads must roll' over Epstein treatment in federal custody
Sasse tells AG that 'heads must roll' over Epstein treatment in federal custody
"The Department of Justice failed, and today Jeffrey Epstein’s co-conspirators think they might have just gotten one last sweetheart deal,” wrote Sasse, who chairs the the Senate Judiciary Oversight Subcommittee, in the letter.
“Every single person in the Justice Department — from your Main Justice headquarters staff all the way to the night-shift jailer — knew that this man was a suicide risk, and that his dark secrets couldn’t be allowed to die with him," he added. "Given Epstein’s previous attempted suicide, he should have been locked in a padded room under unbroken, 24/7, constant surveillance. Obviously, heads must roll.”
I read that headline as an alibi.
<snip> Mr. Epstein had been taken off suicide watch a few days ago, and was being held alone in a cell in a special housing unit.
The official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity for fear of being fired, said guards found Mr. Epstein in the empty cell during morning rounds. He had hanged himself and he appeared to be dead.
<snip> Inmates can only be removed from the watch when the program coordinator, who is generally the chief psychologist at the facility, deems they are no longer at imminent risk for suicide, according a 2007 Bureau of Prison document outlining suicide prevention policies. The inmates cannot be removed from the watch without a face-to-face evaluation.
To take an inmate off suicide watch a “post-watch report” needs to be completed, which includes an analysis of how the inmate’s circumstances have changed and why that merits removal from the watch.
