Jmo not sure then, I wouldn’t think a non-media person would be allowed to record. It is listed as 10tv. The camera is in the usual spot in the court room.

Jmo I have been in that courthouse before but not for a while and I don’t remember exactly, do you know if there is room or conference room right past the stairs?
 
Suspended Pike County makes brief court appearance

WAVERLY, Ohio (FOX19) -The suspended Pike County sheriff made a brief appearance in court Monday morning.

Charlie Reader, 45, was required to be in Pike County Common Pleas Court for what turned out to mostly be a scheduling conference behind closed doors in the judge's chambers.

A pretrial hearing will now be held Sept. 25 and the jury trial is scheduled for Feb. 3, 2020.

Reader and his lawyer left court without commenting to reporters.

Reader was back in court in front of visiting Judge Chris Martin for a pretrial hearing early Monday morning.

Reader will be back in court for two more pre-trials prior to his full-fledged trial early next year. Those pre-trials are set for Sept. 25 and Nov. 20.

"...Pike County Sheriff Charles Reader admitted he increasingly gambled while he “couldn’t sleep” during the years-long Rhoden homicide investigation,

Reader told investigators that he gambled at El Dorado Scioto Downs in southern Franklin County, and pulled his player card from his wallet to give them.

Reader’s records from Scioto Downs were pulled and it was discovered he lost $595.37 in 2016; $5,526.96 in 2017; and $11,033.54 in 2018. Investigators also found he had lost $739 on Dec. 2, 2017, at Hollywood Casino in Columbus... "

If Charles Reader didn’t steal any money than what right does anyone have saying were he can and can not go also he bought a $350.00 dollar truck, you tell me that a man that has to risk his life trying to protect the innocent in that town with a major drug highway running thru it buy a junk truck you people let some pieces of crap like a Wagners that has started this trouble, if this man is convicted, let Fredericka do what ever she wants to the community JMO

Jmo I completely agree if he didn’t steal then he has all the right in the world to gamble his money away, but if he did steal then he also deserves to go jail just like the thieves he arrested Jmo innocent until proven guilty jmo

I agree with you but if they can prove it being FW that got this started to free her family I believe she should go on trial for 8 counts of murder, JMO

09/04/2019 NOTICE OF VIOLATION OF NON-CONTACT ORDER FILED (VIA FAX) Attorney: SMITH, ROBERT F

Retired Judge Chris Martin ordered Reader to turn in all keys and a key fob that gets him into the courthouse. He also ordered that no one involved in the case discuss it on social media and that the sheriff have no contact with anyone on the state’s witness list.
