Please remember Nora went missing from her resort in only her undergarments. So the fact that she was found without clothing is not alarming. We don’t have clarification if she was indeed completely naked without undergarments or naked as in only wearing underwear. In this case, the news has been unreliable and mistranslated so we need to wait for actual confirmed details before jumping to conclusions.

I don't believe there was any abduction. The police mentioned seeing Nora's foot prints the day before, but just one set, not two. And by now there would be an all out manhunt for a murderer as she most likely would have been strangled or severely beaten by anyone who had ill intentions towards her and that would have been immediately clear on her body. Plus what murderer/rapist would be so patient to hold a disabled girl by the hand to lead her a mile to a waterfall that would have taken her probably 2-3 hours (or more) to hike given the state of her condition and doing it in low light. The parents probably feel responsible and having two other children will be afraid of authorities back home taking them away due to neglecting their daughter. Either they had been preparing their child for more independence or overcoddling her to the point that they underestimated her abilities, the disability that she had would not have limited her much from escaping and running off. I feel sorry for her parents and siblings but at least she's in peace and it seems like she finally did find that waterfall she was so excited to see.
I did not see where the police confirmed footprints (1 or 2 sets) do you have a link?

A spokeswoman for the Dunsun said hotel bosses were confused by Nora's disappearance.

"Our resort has been operating for 10 years and we have never even been robbed," Haanim Bamadhaj said.

Vulnerable holiday teen was abducted, family say

Thanks, maybe the resort hasn't been. They didn't mention guest robbery. You might want to look at Trip Advisor, under the reviews rated 3 or less. Interesting information from their guest.

Nora Quoirins family was reported as entering Dusun at 1.45 PM the date they arrived. At 8 AM the father reported her missing. The parents put her to bed in underwear. The hikers who found her report her NAKED - ie no clothing. The authorities had already searched this area with no sightings.

What needs to be remembered here is that the Malaysian police etc have been exemplary. They have been outstanding and excellent in their searches. It is very upsetting to me to see people say that Western governments would be better- they would not. I grew up in Malaysia and know they are awesome and will do everything necessary to find out what happened. This poor girl has obviously suffered and speculation is not helpful but there are leads online that perhaps the authorities are not aware of. They need to be highlighted with the relevant agencies incase there is a real issue at hand other than that we all need to be patient and let the authorities do their job and you can trust Malaysia. I would rather have them on my case than anyone else in the world. They know what they are doing and it wasn't about tourism but the girls safety. That is why they were angry with the media as they felt it comprised her safety. Not everyone is materialistic.

The Malaysian people have truly gone above and beyond to get Nora home, and I for one greatly appreciate it. To any Malaysians reading this, thank you.

The govt is placing high priority on this case, but the doctor will decide how long it takes. Since she died on Aug 6, and her body was in a hot and humid environment, it will take many tests to determine cause of death.
What? I know I’m way behind, but where did you hear that she died on Aug 6? How could anyone possibly know this? TIA

A senior pathologist is today expected to travel from Kuala Lumper to Seremban to carry out a post-mortem examination on the teenager's remains in a bid to find a cause of death.

In a joint tweet, Jean-Yves Drian, Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs and secretary of state for Europe, Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne said: "The French authorities are at the disposition of the Malaysian authorities so that light can be shed on the circumstances of her death."
Prayers offered as body of missing teenager Nora Quoirin found in Malaysian jungle

Above bolded by me for reference

I really like how all these other governments have offered help, especially on Twitter and in the media.
I've not heard the help was excepted.I have read other governments have sent representives but no word of any joint effort or assist provided. I do read the police chief speak of their expertise.

I hope when the family returns home with Nora and they collect their thoughts, they share what really happened. How they were really treated. Did the government prevent/threaten them from speaking? This whole thing just stinks!!!

From several links:

statement released on Tuesday said: “Nóra’s family believe she has been abducted.

“We are especially worried because Nóra has learning and developmental disabilities, and is not like other 15-year-olds.

“She looks younger, she is not capable of taking care of herself, and she won’t understand what is going on.

She never goes anywhere by herself. We have no reason to believe she wandered off and is lost.”

The above carefully worded press release was probably composed the previous night, Monday, Aug 5.

My strong hunch is that Nora was no longer alive by 8AM on Aug 6, Tuesday.

Did they say her body was submerged in water? I thought I read she was in place not easy to access, between the rocks, near the water. Imo
My strong hunch is that she died before 8AM of Aug 6.

She may have died even earlier, and her body submerged in water, preventing discovery during early searches.

Post-mortem in Malaysia may not be able to determine exact time of death, or even exact location.

She went missing on August 4th. Do you mean 2 days after she went missing ???

According to Matthew Searle, CEO of the UK-based Lucie Blackman Trust charity which is acting as a liaison between the London-based family and the media, Nora told her family that she wanted to see a waterfall during her holiday to Malaysia.

Acting on this previously undisclosed information, a volunteer searcher combed the area near the waterfall and made the grim discovery.

Nora's Belfast-born mother Meabh Quoirin and French father Sebastien Quoirin endured the grim task of formally identifying their daughter's body which had been airlifted to the Tuanku Ja'afar Hospital in Seremban, about 70km from the capital Kuala Lumpur.

They are absolutely broken," Mr Searle told the Irish Independent.

National deputy police chief Mazlan Mansor said yesterday that the body "was not in any clothings" and while it remained a missing persons case, police were looking into all possibilities including the "angle of criminal investigation".

The police investigation will now focus on her final movements and a post-mortem examination, which is due to be conducted today, may provide clues as to how she died.

The rugged area where her body was found had been searched previously as part of a massive search operation that swelled to around 350 people as fears grew for the missing girl.

Meanwhile, a forensics team cordoned off the area where the body was discovered after winching the remains to a helicopter to remove it from the dense bush.

Mr Searle - whose charity helps families of people who die or go missing abroad - said the area where Nora was found "may have been covered in the early part of the search".

But why her body wasn't found earlier - especially when sniffer dogs were deployed - remains a mystery.

"It may have been they just got lucky," he said of the discovery yesterday.

However, how Nora - who was born with the congenital brain defect holoprosencephaly and had severe developmental delays - died was not disclosed by police, pending the outcome of today's autopsy.

"We have no indication as to how she died," said Mr Searle, who is speaking on behalf of the Quoirin family.

However, he said there were no reports of obvious damage to her body - from a struggle, injury or mauling by an animal.

"We heard the body is in good condition. We'll know more tomorrow," he said last night.
