Wow, 15 charges. No wonder it took so long! Is this the person who’s name was in the rumor mill, or a surprise?

I believe this is same person Sheriff named as POI just before JM's body recovered in shallow grave.

Authorities had questioned a “person of interest” at the time of Jonathan’s death, but no arrests were made until now.

Court records show Little has a lengthy criminal history, with numerous charges for drug and gun crimes.

VIDEO: Matthew Little arrested in connection with death of 14-year-old Jonathan Minard in Carroll County

CARROLLTON, Ohio — Sheriff's deputies in Carroll County have arrested a man in connection with the death of a teen boy who was found this past April in a shallow grave, WKYC confirmed Wednesday.

Matthew Little, 30, faces 15 charges in the death of 14-year-old Jonathan Minard, whose body was found on a Washington Township farm on Apr. 19 a week after he went missing. His cause of death had been ruled a homicide by "acute fentanyl intoxication."

Police say Jonathan had been helping on a farm near New Harrisburg on Apr. 12 when he complained of a toothache and said he was going to call his mom to pick him up. His mother never received that call, and the search for him rocked the community even after his body was eventually found.

Authorities had questioned a “person of interest” at the time of Jonathan’s death, but no arrests were made until now.

Court records show Little has a lengthy criminal history, with numerous charges for drug and gun crimes.

Man arrested in connection with death of 14-year-old in Carroll County

CARROLL COUNTY, Ohio — An arrest was made Wednesday, 4-and-a-half months after the body of a missing 14-year-old from Carroll County was found buried in a shallow grave on a farm in Washington Township.

Matthew Little was arrested Wednesday afternoon after a grand jury indicted him on 15 criminal charges stemming from the death of Jonathan E. Minard.

I wasn't even aware that a Grand Jury was convening in regards to this case. Perhaps that explains the delay in charges being brought? I'm so glad to find out that Jonathan's case has not been forgotten. Jonathan deserves Justice. MOO.

“There was some things about this case that were evident from the beginning and some things in this case that were not evident,” the sheriff said in explaining the length of the investigation was the result of a “fastidious effort” to determine who was responsible for the teen’s death.

Although the boy’s body was found in April, it wasn’t until July that Carroll County Coroner Mandal B. Haas ruled Minard died from a fentanyl overdose.

Williams said he would disclose more details about the case and Little’s arrest at a news conference, scheduled for 6 p.m. in Carrollton.

A relative of Minard’s, who asked not to be identified, said the family had no comment at this time.

Interesting, why 3 counts of involuntary manslaughter? Some sort of aggravating factors or something?

Not finding any charging information about him at the county clerk of courts web site

Dupe. Posted above.

Thanks, Seattle 1. Sounds like the local news source was on top of this story.

ETA: This quote is notable:
This case had certain things that were evident and things that were not evident.

Is that referring to the fentanyl overdose or something else?
