Search-and-rescue workers combed the rugged terrain near Lang Station on Wednesday, where a car was hit by a train the night before, looking for the car’s owner, who was reported missing early Wednesday.

Nakita Marie Monkhouse, 31, of Canyon Country.

“Canyon Country woman is still missing,” a spokeswoman for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, said shortly after 3:45 p.m. Wednesday.

“Search and Rescue assisted deputies in combing areas of brush, trails in the area,” she said, noting that at least three search-and-rescue dogs were used in the search.

Monkhouse was last seen on Tuesday, Sept. 10, at 5:17 p.m. in her residence on the 28400 block of Oak Springs Canyon Road in Canyon Country.

Monkhouse, who also goes by the name Nikki Kichler, is described as white, 5 feet, 5 inches tall, 100 pounds, blue eyes, and long purple hair, with a multitude of tattoos on both arms. She was last seen wearing a black tank top, blue jeans and black Nike shoes.

According to detectives, she suffers from depression, schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

Ah, poor woman. It was unusual cool out that way on the 10th and even yesterday it was only 99F. Going up to over 100F today, according to forecast.

We lost a 64 year old man (deceased) in 90F about 10 days ago in Malibu's Zuma Canyon (and 2 members of his party were collapsed as well). All of these people, including Nikki, would be fairly accustomed to heat, but the terrain in both places is really rugged.

Nikki may also need regular medication.

It has been over 24 hours since my friend has gone missing. Her vehicle was hit on the train tracks shortly after she dissapeared. (She was not in the vehicle when it was hit)

Please share, keep your eye out, and pray for her safe return. I have included a picture of her with her purple hair, as this is what she looks like now .

Please come home Nakita Kichler Monkhouse

A Metrolink passenger train slammed into an abandoned car parked on railroad tracks in Canyon Country this evening. The incident occurred on a stretch of track intersecting Oak Spring Canyon Road in the Sand Canyon community shortly after 6 p.m.

It’s unclear where the driver of the Hyundai hatchback was at the time of the crash, but the incident occurred in the same area a missing woman was last seen.

The woman, 31-year-old Nakita Monkhouse was declared at-risk missing from t...

assuming they know she was not in the car because why? Because she would have been badly injured and still in the car after the accident? or because no one from the train saw anyone in the car? Did she put the car there on purpose? Did someone else? This must be so scary for her loved ones, gosh... @Knox -what can we do?

Oh man. I'm going to be following this one for sure. I wonder if she left the car running and got out?

Due to the fact that there is literally no urgency in Santa Clarita to find her ( There were a couple small stories in the papers a couple days ago) they believe that she is okay.

So, is she okay??

Do we have confirmation from any source that this is so?

I'm just worried about her . . .
