There was an FBI agent participating in the search while Abby and Libby were still missing.

It is mentioned at this press conference on February 22, 2017 at the 13 minute and 9 second mark.

I would like to call it a stroke of good luck that there happened to be an FBI agent in town that day and that is what brought in the FBI into this investigation so early on. ;)

If there was something the killer did that made it obvious that it was a SK, then possibly whatever it was is linked to Lizzie and Lyric? The similarities to that case are eerie.

It could explain the 6,000 billboards in 46 states and the radio ads that happened so quickly. Perhaps LE did not want to create a panic situation about a SK so they put those up 'quietly'?

Or not. :(

JMO, speculation, etc.
That’s why I mentioned the FBI being there while they searched because it’s not been explained. It wasn’t luck though, make no mistake about that. As for the billboards, maybe. But there was a reason the FBI was there so fast. Hopefully we learn why.

I was here from the very beginning and still check in even though I don't post much currently. I don't have anything constructive to add at this point so I watch and wait...

I suspect many members are still around too and like me are waiting for a break in the case.
I'm curious, what will be the first: WS with "ARREST" or my email account with "BREAKING NEWS" .....
In any case, hopefully the announcement will happen soon!

Hi FinePrint,

Since it was Abby’s first time crossing the bridge she may have been walking hesitantly to make sure she didn’t fall.

Why did Abby take her first walk (IF it was the first) across the bridge in February, when the railway sleepers might have been slightly frozen and icy smooth? That I don't understand and therefore I tend to assume, the girls had another reason to go exactly there. IMO

Can anyone point me to a source where FSG is identified? (Actually identified and not who someone thinks he is.) I seem to remember DG wasn't actually sure of his identity. TIA

There was no ice that day. It was unseasonably warm and sunny for February.

I was just thinking back to the possibility that they knew BG. Remember how it was brought up that they mentioned a “creepy guy”? I think that they would be referring him as to “isn’t that so & so’s dad/uncle/dude from etc”? Instead of just some creepy guy? If they knew him I think they would least say that but if they didn’t I’m sure they would call him creepy guy, weirdo etc.
just thinking girl talk back in the day and how my niece talks
Speculation imo moo etc

BP was the one who used the word creepy. We do not know if the girls said that.

Anyone have a link to the entire Dr. Phil episode? I’m looking specifically for the part about the timeline. All YouTube seems to have is clips, not including that part.

Hi FromGermany,

I have no idea what the girls’ motivation was to go to the trails and cross the bridge that day, other than what’s been reported about it being an unseasonably nice day and they wanted to go take pictures because they had the day off school.

My speculation was only about the amount of time they were on the bridge. Yes, they may have been waiting for a clandestine meeting, but Abby (allegedly) never having been on the bridge before and being extra cautious would be a viable reason for the girls being on the bridge for an extended amount of time. Just another wrench thrown in our sleuthing works.

Perhaps the “creepy guy” wasn’t in reference to BG at all. They may have seen someone else along the trail they thought was creepy. JMO

This is the current FBI most wanted information:

UNKNOWN SUSPECT — FBI

Age: Approximately 18 to 40 years old but may appear younger
Hair: Reddish-brown
Height : 5'6" to 5'10"
Weight : 180 to 200 pounds
Sex: Male
Race: White
Thank you. So, we're still looking for reddish brown hair after all.
In the sketch it appears he has heavy lids and a pronounced chin. Those are a bit unusual.
The sketch also shows curly hair. Are we looking for curly or wavy hair too?

I’m still not confident about the SC time. It’s not going to be off by much, but the shadow time did not convince me. I still say between 1:45 or so and 2:07. I won’t go into a long SC explanation about it again I promise
Yeah. I think it's possible with the right computer software to pinpoint the time based on angles, coordinates, date, etc., but without knowing exactly how GH put it together, I'm not going to rely 100% on it, either. From my interpretation he used Cheyenne's photo and ran comparisons based on the shadows.

For sure I think he and a lot of other people can approximate a time within a limited range, but I just don't know how accurate any of it is. Or exactly how the 2:07 was first determined, for that fact. Frustrating.

I tried to figure it out, but there are factors that need to be taken into consideration that my brain just can’t compute. I was actually trying to use the shadows on the trees since they are stationary and their shadows are pointier.

An interesting article on DNA and “age”:

Understanding Genetics
Can you tell someone's age from their DNA?
February 25, 2015

The article says, “one needs to know the length of the telomeres at birth”. Also, no one knows individual activity of telomerase. And it is the anti-aging enzyme. Genes coding for the activity of the telomerase are known, so if one sees these genes in the configuration coding for more active telomerase, they could assume that the person has “the longevity gene” and may look younger. But it is still an approximation.
Telomerase - Wikipedia

ETA: there is a telomerase hype, it is now sold online, but don’t buy it.

They should have been solved but mistakes were made very early on.

I'm not casting blame. Things happen that are out of everyone's control, including LE's.

Yes, but the times of “the Shack” might be over. They need to become more proactive. Make a task group. Look at different aspects of what they know. Not ask us to recognize the BG.

They should not assume that anyone is going to call and say, “oh, my nephew, he walks like this dude.”

They probably need to show this walk to gait specialists at Mayo Clinic or some reputable place. They will need to show a tad more of this loop, but they can. At this time, they can. And then, ask who would treat this person, what kind of a specialist. Is it neoropathic gait, as I think, or something else. Maybe he was wounded.

Have ENT specialists listen to his voice. Tell them if it is the voice of a smoker, or the person has a vocal cord spasm.

And then try to comb through such specialists. Who could have seen him? He must have been treated somewhere. Maybe even in VA. I have the feeling that the guy has some special training, and can plan well.

If they have DNA, they can find out a lot. If they don’t, they have to work with the material Libby provided themselves, since they don’t show it to us. They still can show it to a specialist bound by the privacy law.

You know I never really thought of that, the curly/wavy hair depicted in the sketch. I wonder if that is what that witness described or artistic liberty taken by the sketch artist? That is a big characteristic if true. The depicted thick wavy hair is distinctive and unless the guy has shaven his head would be a real identifying feature.

I don't think I've heard or read LE describe this guy as having wavy hair. Interesting though that it is what is shown in the sketch!
