the punishment should reflect the heinous nature of the crime. I personally believe murder of children to be the most heinous crime possible and the penalty should be death in all 50 states.

I thought she'd get more, but i think the pros. lost ground when they made it more of a racial or LE motivated case. She was guilty, and rightly found guilty. But in many other cases had they both been same race, or she not LE, a plea deal of less would have been made, IMO. I saw some of the rhetoric last night that pushed the 'punish her for trayvon, etc' and that totally pushed me to go for the more sympathetic sentence.

I thought since they came to the conviction so fast they would hand down a longer sentence. At least between 15-20. I'm disappointed but not surprised. I think this was a compromised verdict from beginning to end.

I think it's 1/2 the sentence if it's over 10 years but less if it's under. I might be wrong--in which case someone will certainly correct me.

I truly believe that some jurors agreed to murder in exchange for a lighter sentence.
