On Friday September 27, 2019 at 9:22 pm the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from Bradley Road in the Township of Leeds. A female had called 911 asking for help and stated that her husband was shot. The caller stated that she and her small child were also in the house. Deputies and emergency medical personnel were immediately dispatched to the residence.
The female caller told the dispatcher that they had heard some noises in the basement and suspected that someone was in their house. The caller stated that her husband grabbed a gun and went into the basement to check out what they had heard. The caller stated that she then heard a gunshot and upon looking down the stairs saw her husband dead.
Deputies arrived and entered the house where they found a 35 year old male deceased in the basement. Deputies searched the house and located the wife and a small child, unharmed, hiding in another room. Deputies safely escorted the wife and small child from the home. A search of the area with the Columbia County K9 Unit was conducted but no one was found to be still in the area. This is an active and ongoing investigation into a suspicious death.

Hmmm...

The house is an old farmhouse, on a rural highway with other farms. Not a great spot for a burglar, whose car would stand out along the road. So, the burglar came into their basement early in the evening, made noise, shot the husband when he was at the bottom of the steps (wife said she saw him there), and then exited while the wife and daughter were still hiding? This house has no walk-out basement, although there could be a cellar entrance. There seems to be more to this story...

If you heard a gunshot would you run down there and leave your child alone or call 911 first?
I am assuming they are putting the crime scene together.
Instruder would leave evidence somewhere.
A staged insider killer would make mistakes easy for investigators to spot.
If intruder was someone they both knew that's causing fear to the wife, then I could get her story.
We need more info.
But I agree with you.

A newer article, not much info. But interesting that the "recent articles" sidebar include:

Resident wakes up to wife's purse missing, shadowy figures running up street
and
Barking dog alerts homeowner to burglary, police say

And also interesting that there aren't too many rumors on the facebook comments to the articles (you can usually pick up something there).

Total mystery at this point. The picture in the article shows a rural area. I wonder if there are meth/opioid issues.

No suspects in custody for Columbia Co. homicide, victim's family share more about his life

I am trying to understand, wife stated he was armed with his gun.
Went to check basement with his fire arm.
She heard gunshots, so was he shot with his own gun or was the intruder armed also.
I see no MSM or LE updating this info.
Could he had fallen down stars and gun went off.
I guess the No arrest means he was shot by someone. Watching this thread close.
Has any one seen autopsy report yet?
He sounds like such a wonderful loving family man.
Rest Easy Keith.
Your Story will be told.
Justice for Keith.
Prayers for his family and loved ones.

This one really is perplexing...family seems certain he was murdered by an intruder. Wife doesn't appear to have any motive - they seem happy. The sidebar news is scary - perhaps there really is a prowler on the loose. It is very sad Keith had to lose his life for seemingly no reason.

Maybe we are having hinky meter alerts because we see so much of this, especially in recent times, here on Ws so it’s an automatic reaction, because of circumstances past . Maybe he really was murdered by a burglar and there is no connection whatsoever with the wife and she really has not decided to hire a hit on him or anything else with nefarious intent . I would like to think that for once , it’s a tragic loss of a good mans life at the hands of the lowlife that grace our streets with their unwanted presence. He had only been married for 3 years looking at FB. Very sad circumstances indeed x

The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office believes a Sept. 27 homicide was targeted, and not a random attack, according to a press release released Friday.

“It is believed the victim in this homicide was targeted,” Sheriff Roger Brandner said. “There is no evidence or information at this time to suggest that this was a random attack.”

Brandner also released a description of a vehicle of interest. “We are also looking to speak to the person who was driving a light-colored SUV or truck with a loud exhaust and would have been on Bradley Road on Friday night, 09/27/19 at around 9 p.m.,” he wrote.

Columbia County Sheriff's Office asking for public's help in homicide investigation

The Columbia County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in a homicide investigation.
In a news release Friday afternoon, officials said they are looking to speak to anyone who was traveling on Bradley Road between County Highway N and Highway 60 on Sept. 27 between 8:30 p.m. and 10 p.m.
They also said they want to speak with anyone who knew Keith Wolf or had contact with him in the weeks leading up to his death.
The release said investigators want to know if anyone saw any people walking on roadways, suspicious cars parked or any cars driving in the area.

Anyone with information should call Columbia County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-293-8477 or Detective Sergeant Tim Schultz at 608-742-4166 ext. 3324.

Ok, that makes no sense to me.... It must be targeted because we have no evidence that it was random?? How does that work, exactly? I’ve heard it the other way around, but never that. Usually the only way you can rule out a random attack is knowing it’s intentional, right?

The Columbia County Sherriff detectives have no clue who did this. They are going door to door to speak with anyone who owned a phone that pinged off the tower near/at the time of the murder. Everyone they visit, they are asking for DNA...so some evidence must have been left at the scene.

I hope they figure out who this is... it's caused me countless nights of bad sleep thinking someone is on the loose.

EXCLUSIVE: Mother of Leeds murder victim, Keith Wolf, pleads for justice

Capt. Kocovsky says deputies are working with analysts from the Division of Criminal Investigation, the state crime lab and the FBI as they comb through numerous interviews and information gathered from warrants.
...
Detectives confirm the gun found next to Wolf's body was not the murder weapon, and they are examining evidence from the crime scene that they believe was left by the killer.

Also in the video it is stated LE are looking for a truck with a topper seen driving down Bradley Rd between 9 and 10pm on the night of the murder.
