Imo the missing X at the end of the text to JK is being over played. The contents of the message can easily be collaborated by her employers. I always make a point of finishing with a X to my nearest and dearest but there have been times I’ve forgot. I really don’t think the missing X is significant. Same with the actual message, if her employers stated she was not due to work those shifts that would be suspicious but to my knowledge, no ones has said otherwise. I’m certain that text was sent by Claudia.

I understand your point, but the Cafe she worked in was not open on a Sunday - unless, of course, she was doing other work in the kitchens (a deep clean perhaps). In addition, no employer can make you work 12 days in a row (unless she simply agreed to it). The text message sounded as if she was peeved. So if it is true, when did she find out about it, as it was not mentioned to either her Mum or Dad when she was on to the phone to them that evening. If something was grating at me and being that close to my parents, I'd have mentioned it to them during the conversation.

Probably a deep clean. Employer would have confirmed with the police anyway. I’m not sure what the legal standing was in 2009 but they certainly can’t now. Maybe it was just a few hours here and there over the 12 day period. Only JK has made a point of the text...... to my knowledge the police haven’t......

With regards to her mum and dad, she didn’t particularly heavily socialise with them as she did with her friends. The 12 day shift would have impacted on Claudia and her friends social life, so it makes sense she’d moan to them but not her parents.

She had made plans with her Mum for Mother's Day, so could not have been working for 12 days on thr trot

She was asked to work early shifts, so would have been able to make lunch/dinner/tea. Or just a catch up after work.

Surely the conversation with her Mum would have been, I'm working Sunday morning, but I'll come for "food" or "a catch up"?
I do not agree that this wouldn't have been mentioned

EDIT - on top of that she didn't have a car, so travel times would also need to be taken into consideration

How do we know that's not how the conversation went? Was mother's day that Sunday? Was she due to get her car back before then?

There's too much we don't know

Maybe it did. They most likely discussed many things we are not privy to. Her mum, dad, police have never questioned that text so from that I accept it was genuine.

The garage would have mentioned if her car was ready to be collected?

No because everything to do with that car has been kept secret. No one, except those who need to , knows where it was even being repaired.

Apologies ...read post wrong...thought poster was implying to after the event.

Yes I’ve been asking about the car.Was it towed to the garage ?And from where and by whom ?was she the only passenger in that car ?
