Search Continues for Missing Woman in Benzie County - 9 & 10 News

[...]

Adrienne Quintal is from Warren but drove up to her family’s cabin in Honor with her boyfriend about three weeks ago.

The Benzie County Sheriff’s Office tells us the boyfriend left the area on Tuesday last week but Adrienne stayed.

[...]
This makes me wonder:
-what was the relationship with her boyfriend like at that time? Were they doing good; was it strained?
-did something happen that caused her boyfriend to leave days before she did? A fight; had to get back to work?
-did the boyfriend actually stay gone after leaving or did he come back?
-does the boyfriend have an alibi?
-how many roads are there to/from that cabin (with it being rural)? What possibilities are there on how she disappeared as quickly as she did?

Southfield woman goes missing in northern Michigan, sheriffs find foul play evidence

[NW] says his mom was at the family cottage in Honor, Michigan near Traverse City, about 200 miles from metro Detroit.

[...]

They searched an area of Benzie County in Honor where the 47-year-old was staying at a home on Indian Hill Road. It is a place her son says she is quite familiar with, having gone there since she was a child.

"We have a family cottage," [NW] said. "She was doing work on the house. She was also just getting ready for hunting and hanging out and enjoying the wildlife."

But according to the Benzie sheriff, Quintal called a friend in Warren asking for help. That person called law enforcement, who arrived at the cottage within 13 minutes.

There was no sign of Quintal but they did find signs of foul play. Her phone, purse, and car were still there on the property. The search began immediately.

FOX 2 is told Quintal went up north with her boyfriend, but her son says that man came back to their place in Southfield on Tuesday, a couple days before she was noticed missing.

"He was up there with her, he came home to drop supplies off, we are working on the condo here," [NW] said.

Maybe since it’s such a rural area she thought it would be faster for the third party to get to her than LE? I have no idea obviously, just a guess. This sounds bad.....

This makes me think maybe something was going on and she called who she trusted the most. I hate to say it but people think "it's not bad enough for 911" but if you need help call 911 first, its so much easier to apologize for calling 911 out of abundance of caution.

There are so many loose ends with the initial news report. Could be someone else made the call with her phone to cover tracks or throw off the potential crime scene. Could have been a squatter or transient attack and she knew it was going to happen. Heck she could have been on the phone with the 3rd party as it was happening.

Prayers and hope she is ok and makes it through whatever she is going through.

From your link, interesting search methods and locations:
BBM

"CERT public information officer Glenn Zaring told WWTV the group was out until 4:30 p.m. on Saturday doing sweeps of areas after using a computer program to help them track the probabilities of where someone may be located.

“We were actually searching almost like the back swampy area from Little Platte Lake up into some very thick hunting woods along Indian Hill Road,” Zaring told the television station.

Officials are expected to be out Tuesday morning with a drone in another attempt to find Quintal, according to WWTV."

Woman Disappeared From Remote Cabin After Making Eerie Call Asking For Help

When deputies and Michigan State Police troopers got to the cabin at 2:58 a.m., they found no sign of Quintal but saw “evidence of possible foul play,” the sheriff’s office says.

Authorities have not disclosed what that evidence is, but say Quintal left behind personal property, including her vehicle, cellphone, and purse.

That night, sheriff’s deputies and Michigan State Police troopers searched the area with a K-9 unit but were unable to locate Quintal.

Wow, evidence of foul play can be anything from a door left open, broken door jamb, furniture flipped, blood or hair evidence, leaving behind a pet or something that needs care, oven left on, all belongings left behind, etc. Lack of info makes me not want to even speculate on what has happened other than she is missing.

Wait, you’re saying to stop speculating and theorizing and looking for clues but instead send “thoughts and prayers”? You don’t know websleuths very well! The only reason we do speculate is to get helpful ideas out to help find people and get them home no matter what and justice if needed! We’re all on the same team!

Sorry- hope you know we only had small amount of info available- for days. Thanks for sharing. Now down to it. Please tell us everything . What's been done, who did she call? what she said etc. Our group has been know to do great things but with no info we can only speculate. Any thing helps. Of course we can pray . Like did she work? Was she retired? Who is pushing police to do more? Thanks for showing up, we deed you -but can't help with nothing.

RSABBM:

Are 911 services available there from where she went missing?

If not, this would explain her phoning a friend for assistance...she may even have asked them to call the police for her.

If they DO have 911 service at that location, then her decision to contact a "friend" tends to indicate that this was a domestic incident or someone she knew vs. a stranger intrusion.

Either that, or her thinking/judgment may have been impaired.
People don't tend to think their most clearly when panicked.

If the "friend" she contacted was NOT her bf, then that is telling.
Have specifics regarding what she told the friend been reported in MSM?
Most women would contact their SO in that situation before they would contact a platonic friend.

Sign of foul play, but nothing taken.

This was personal. By someone with a motive.

Hopefully, LE has looked for tire tracks on the property.

Wonder if the driveway is dirt or paved...has the address of the property been published?

It would be interesting to get a street view of the cabin.

I'm going to assume that the boyfriend wouldn't have an alibi for 2:45 am, unless he happened to be sleeping with someone else. My guess, he killed her, came home for a couple of days, then decided to go back and dispose of the body. While there he uses her phone to call a friend and whispers "help me". There is no 911 call because he knows that would be recorded.
