Pa. State Police looking for missing man

Pennsylvania State Police officers in Blooming Grove are looking for an 84-year-old man who was last seen Sept. 30 at 10 p.m. Fayez M. Dahan’s wife reported him missing at 3:11 a.m. on Oct. 1. He was last seen at their residence on Lakes Road in Shohola.

He does not have his medication with him. His wife told police she thought he may be attempting to travel to his residence in Philadelphia.

Dahan was last seen wearing plaid pajamas and white sneakers. He is described as 5 feet 9 inches tall with brown/gray hair and brown eyes.

There were 86 comments so far, with none being interesting, except for the few that stated he is still missing.

His residence is very close to two lakes, and I hope LE has checked nearby bodies of water. I also hope New York LE has also been notified about Mr Dahan, as Shohola Township, Pennsylvania is right by a bridge over the Delaware River into New York (Shohola is in Shohola Township):

Family Desperately Searching for Missing Man

• Police from several counties have been looking for Fayez Dahan since Tuesday, and now the community is pitching in to help.
• His relatives believe he drove off from his home in Shohola Township before sunrise on Tuesday.
• He disappeared with the keys to the family van while they slept.
• His family says he hasn't driven in about seven years.
• He has lived in Scranton and East Stroudsburg, and his daughters say he could have driven to any of those communities.
• The family hasn't limited the search to Pike County. They've had people looking all over Lackawanna and Monroe counties, where he once lived.
• Security camera footage from Shohola Elementary School indicates that he did not travel south on Rte 6, eliminating about 1/2 of Pike Co.
• K-9 search and rescue teams spent part of the day Saturday searching Twin Lakes near his home. They walked, drove, and flew a drone.
• He may have been wearing a gray, "Cableware" sweatshirt.

Pike County man still missing after five days as search intensifies

Man with Dementia still missing 10-Days later

Ten days later Troopers in nearby Pike County have not found Fayez Dahan or the car he was driving. They continue their search efforts and ask that Hopatcong Lake residents continue to keep a lookout.

RWD fights back tears talking about her father. “My dad is going to be ok no matter what but we really want the community to help us with this endeavor.“ Fayez Dahan was last seen near Between the Lakes Road in Shohola Township around 2am on Tuesday “We are talking about a man who is 84 years old and in dementia.“

Neighbors saw Dahan leaving the property in maroon 2008 Toyota sienna minivan with a decal reading Virginia grandparents on the back. “He’s not very mobile and carries a cane so even if he got out of the van he couldn’t have gotten very far.”

Monday October 13 a woman reported having seen a “VIRGINIA Grandparents” (University of Virginia) rear windshield decal (as pictured in the FIND FAYEZ flyer) on a vehicle being driven by a man. Her recollection was that she saw the vehicle early October but was unsure of the car type/color.

Based on the location of the sighting, if you live in the Sussex County, Branchville NJ, Culver’s Lake area and have surveillance cameras overlooking Rt 206, Morris Turnpike or other roads in the Sussex County, NJ vicinity please, please, please review your video footage looking for a Maroon Toyota Sienna minivan on Tuesday, Oct 1. Initially review the time period of 3:00pm - 6:00pm; but footage from as early as 2:30am Tuesday October 1 and into the evening may also be relevant.

Missing Pa. man, 84, may have been spotted in Sussex County
Sussex County residents are urged to keep their eyes out for a maroon minivan with a “Virginia grandparent” sticker on it after an 84-year-old Pike County, Pa., man drove off from his home earlier this month and hasn’t returned.

On Oct. 13, Woods said she received a message from a woman in Sussex County who reported seeing a “Virginia grandparents” decal on the back of a van earlier this month, but the woman could not recall the make/model of the vehicle. The woman said she recalled the vehicle being driven by a male who had pulled into a garden center on Route 206 in the Culver’s Lake area in Frankford. Woods said police have obtained surveillance video from the area but have not been able to identify Dahan’s van.

...Woods said her parents had visited Sussex County frequently and had attended the Peters Valley Craft Fair at the Sussex County Fairgrounds in Frankford the weekend of Sept. 26 and 27. They would often travel through the county to visit friends or pick them up from Newark Airport, she added.

The Pennsylvania State Police conducted marine and K-9 searches on Tuesday, Woods said, and drone and helicopter searches are also planned.

darn it! i actually had hope that this could be a dementia case where the person actually got where they where trying to go and were on the street/picked up in hospital as a john doe. Rest in peace Fayez.

The Toyota Sienna van was pulled from the woods near the Sawkill Business Park off Route 6 West in Milford Township Monday afternoon.

The body of Fayez Dahan was discovered in the van earlier.

So terribly sad. I hope he didn't suffer.
