JG thanks for opening Back up .

1 hour isn’t very much time to cover information . Too bad someone couldn’t do a 5 part through series like the two missing Welch , Okla girls “ hell in the heartland “.

First interview I’ve seen with Officer Bookout ,who took the initial report . He probably had more info on the case then anyone .

Det Asher said MH swept up the glass bc JK was barefoot , and didn’t want to cut her feet , and shook it out of the pan there along side the fence line . This never made any sense .

What did y’all think ?

I thought when I saw Nigel, and Officer Bookout that maybe this show would be different. It became the Asher show and had outright lies, and he never looked back on what he might have done wrong early in the case. He insisted Suzie was questioned about the graveyard vandalism. No one used her car to commit that crime. They also didn't need her testimony. I didn't like how they did they placed emphasis on a grave robbing and then said none of their fingerprints were found at the Levitt/Streeter house. I would have loved to hear more from Bookout and Nigel.

Does anyone think if more information about the case was released to the public that it might eliminate some of the differing views of LE and put better focus on who the suspects might be?

It makes no sense for LE to be repeating false information about this case to the public. If that seemed like a good idea at the time, it's since been found to be ineffective. Is this really how the city of Springfield wants to be known?

Bumping to clarify one point. Suzie did give a statement.

The importance of her statement has been exaggerated by people like Asher. There was statements from the pawn shop owner, Joe Ridiel, and everyone served their time. Suzie disappearing didn't help anyone.
I was annoyed by the show it repeated Asher's theories which haven't answered anything in 27 years. I thought the first responder and Nigel, could have offered more. This was lazy reporting. They didn't get bedroom or house right. They showed the girls in one care when they took two cars. If you want someone to remember something the details and facts are important. Suzie had a memorable licence plate and that wasn't mentioned.

It could have been informative they left Asher take over. He has been prejudice against Sherrill, Suzie and anyone in their lives since 1992. They are still missing and he is still lying.

The show left me with more questions, especially the situation at Delmar. I’m glad they cut the “we swept up the glass as a favor to Sherrill” crap which made no sense but why say it at all? Sweeping it up so Janelle didn’t cut her feet and dumping it in the grass by a fence makes sense but unless Mike put glass in a dumpster across the street and in the grass someone lied. Maybe it isn’t important but it invites comment.
I thought Janis looked for and found Mike and Janelle at a Springfield water park. This is the first I’ve heard that she and Stuart and Mike and Janelle showed up at Delmar at the same time-which seems unlikely.
It’s wasted camera time to even bring up the cemetery vandalism only to say Mike and Dusty passed polygraphs and their fingerprints weren’t at Delmar. It’s weird that they omitted Joseph Riedel from the equation instead of of dragging him through the mud too.
I’m grateful for any attention and hopefully the show generates renewed interest and sparks solid leads.

Again, if it's LE giving out conflicting information, they're very much in the wrong. If the producers, etc. who put the show together made errors, LE should make sure to get the correct information out to the public.

If Springfield LE don't want to correct the record and provide as much accurate information as possible, then maybe the Missouri Attorney General should step in.

Why let Asher speak again? If they didn't want cops talking they should have controlled him. They messed so many details in that show. Two girls driving in two cars - that's a big difference than two girls in one car. Not setting up the bedroom or the house the way it looked was lazy reporting. It was a waste of time that let a bad cop get another few minutes of fame.

They asked Suzie if she would make a statement when they picked Dusty up at the theater and she agreed. Dusty made one the day before. Her’s and Dusty’s both said the same thing. Joe also made one the same day as Suzie and Joe also testified at Mike’s trial.

Gonna try and find this online to watch.

People mag reaches a whole lot of people. Theyve been tweeting about this case a whole bunch lately. I think its great more people are learning about it.

You could say starting with the British guy reading a script he really knew nothing . At least with HITHL series the “ investigators “ put some effort into it and had some real interviews . I’m sure for most , all the wrong details were annoying . Hate to begrudge the exposure .. but

I ASSume the used who ever said yes . No JK this time .
Asher said Cox had worked surveying” in Front of Sherrill and Suzie’s house “ I don’t recall hearing That specific before ..

How come no one is mentioning the rather damning portrayal of Bartt?

I have a hard time taking that show seriously. Asher's refusal to investigate anyone outside of Sherrill and Suzie's lives is getting old. Bartt's recent arrest doesn't look good. It doesn't make him guilty either.

I remember it being suggested that someone used a maintenance emergency, like a gas leak, to lure the women out of the house. I know Cox worked for the same company as Stacy's dad. I don't recall him being mentioned as actually working near the house.

It’s borderline laughable to suggest a sloppy drunk made 3 women disappear-without a trace.
Edited to add: The only reason it isn’t funny is Bartt apparently has serious issues

Hopefully this show doesn't make them worse. Being under suspicion for the disappearance of your mom and sister for 27 years can't be easy. Especially if you you left things on bad terms. I'm sure he feels like if had he been around, or not drinking everything would be different. That has to be hard.

That was the letter found at Smitty’s that has a drawing of the Boliver apartments and said “ use ruse of gas man checking for leak “

If there is a neighborhood gas leak wouldn't it be weird if your neighbors weren't being escorted out of their homes too? They were in a house which that would be harder to evacuate than an apartment. Wouldn't police and firemen be there if it was a street wide thing?
