Reward Upped To $20K In Case Of Woman Who Went Missing In Northern Michigan

(WWJ) The family of a metro Detroit woman who went missing in Northern Michigan is doubling down on the reward for tips.

Adrienne Quintal of Southfield was last seen downstate last month, before heading to her family's cabin in Honor, west of Traverse City.

There's been no sign of her since, and Quintal’s sister says they’re now offering $20,000 for information that leads to the missing woman's location -- with a time constraint. On Nov. 30, 2019, the offer will go back to $10,000...

It says she was last seen BEFORE heading to the cabin?! Does this mean bf seeing her AT the cabin is not assumed to be true?!

Yeah that’s interesting phrasing. Sounds like the family is saying THEY last saw her before she went to the cabin and clearly aren’t taking the bf’s account as fact.
The interview was with the sister, so she likely said that the last time the family had seen her was before she left. As for the boyfriend, who knows. I've heard some things about him that would suggest that he wasn't involved, but can't really go in to that here.

Whoa, this may get complicated.

Did Adrienne ever go to the cabin?

If not, Adrienne never made a call to the friend.

If not, her "friend" could be involved.

Remembering that Adrienne "chose not to call police" when being shot at...

Yeah- it all unravels if she wasn't at the cabin. If the victim had called 911 there would have been a recording. The victims voice would be hard to fake.

In addition their location is grabbed in the call. So that is interesting in terms of what doesn't make sense. Why wouldn't she have simply called 911 herself? LE has also stated recently that the call with the "friend" was the third call she made. Who were the other two calls made to? Makes no sense ...

Enhanced 911, E-911 or E911 is a system used in North America to automatically provide the caller's location to 911 dispatchers. 911 is the universal emergency telephone number in the region. In the European Union, a similar system exists known as E112 (where 112 is the emergency access number) and known as eCall when called by a vehicle.

An incoming 911 call is routed to a Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP), which is a call center operated by the local government. At the PSAP, the call is answered by a specially trained official known as a 9-1-1 dispatcher. The dispatcher's computer receives information from the telephone company about the physical address (for landlines) or geographic coordinates (for wireless) of the caller. This information is used to dispatch police, fire, medical, and other services as needed.[1][2]

Interview with Ada's sister, Jenny, just released about 5 hours ago. A lot of questions answered and updated information.
Wow, now we have some information to go on. Interesting that at 1:40 she texted the bf thinking that she may have seen a cougar. Then an hour later she's calling the friend thinking that someone may be outside. Is she suffering from paranoia?

Also, there is no mention that someone is shooting at her. Seems the press exaggerated when they said she was involved in a shootout.

Could someone have spotted her when she was alone walking the dog and decided they would abduct her?

Did the head injury lead to an episode of paranoia?

Did she jump from the roof and run in to the woods and perish there?

So many questions still.

Thanks for sharing the video, Hola Amigo. I noticed that it's a little over an hour long, so I will have to watch it in segments while I do other things. The first 10 minutes are interesting, and I plan to watch the rest of it throughout the day and evening.

This is how I interpret the statement from the sister. Family member/s saw Adrienne before she left for the cabin. Did anyone talk to her during her approximately 4-hour drive to Honor? Did she call anyone when she arrived so family members knew that she had gotten to the cabin safely? Did a family member speak to AQ after she got to the cabin so they know for a fact that she made it there? Maybe some of my questions will be answered in the video, but I can't watch all of it right now.

According to Adrienne's sister in John Lordan's video, the family friend is trustworthy and has no connection to her bf. IMO the friend would know if someone was trying to impersonate Adrienne on the call. There's no doubt in my mind that Adrienne was at the cabin alive that night.

This wasn't her first night alone at the cabin. Maybe she actually heard a noise outside. I wonder how she came to the conclusion that it could be a person and not an animal, since it was dark outside. It's interesting that the call to the friend started with her hearing a noise and later progressed into a shootout.
Also, there is no mention that someone is shooting at her. Seems the press exaggerated when they said she was involved in a shootout.
The shootout was mentioned in the last police press release:

“The family friend told Benzie Dispatch Adrienne Quintal was involved in a shootout with two men,” the sheriff’s office said in a news release. “The friend added that Adrienne advised her she had shot one of the men in the face, that the other one was shooting at her and she was shooting back at them.”

Missing Michigan woman disappeared after telling friend in frantic call 2 men were shooting at her

From the Brainscratch Podcast-Interview with Adrienne's Sister Jenny

  • Adrienne worked in the auto industry as a database access programmer, very intelligent.
  • Loved to be outside, hunting, gardening. She has a concealed weapon permit, never went anywhere without her 9mm handgun. She's skilled in shooting.
  • Previously married, separated for four years, divorce was final earlier this year. Married for 12 or 13 years.
  • Dating the current boyfriend for a little over a year, first name is Lundy.
  • Adrienne lives in a condo in Southfield.
  • There have been some challenges in the relationship with boyfriend. Sister says Adrienne's personality changed when she met him. She started dressing differently, she started facetiming with sister instead of using the phone. He was very possessive and want to know where she was all the time. She started wearing tighter clothes, sort of hippy in style, very different than she used to wear.
  • Sister met Lundy, she is not crazy about him. There was a time during the summer when they were involved in an altercation and he did not protect Adrienne. She was harmed in the altercation, injured quite badly. Sister was asked if the altercation could be linked to her disappearance. Sister said she did not think so, they revealed the information to the police. As far as she knows the two things cannot be linked.
  • The boyfriend and Adrienne went up to the cabin to do some repairs, she was not working and Lundy doesn't work. The uncle has bad knees so they were helping and were going to close it up for the winter.
  • Houses are spread out in the area, nearest neighbor 1/4 to half mile away. One neighbor that backs up to the property heard something.
  • Sister is 99% sure Adrienne came out of the window located next to the mud room, it was found open. Her boots and phone were found on the north side of the main roof. While Adrienne was on the phone with the family friend, it started out she was just hearing noises and that's why she called the family friend. If you hear noises outside you're not going to automatically call 911, she called the friend. She heard noises, called the family friend and then it began escalating. She did call two other people prior who may not have answered, the family friend did answer.
  • It's pitch black out there, you can't see anything, she hears noises. She had a space heater on and all the lights were on inside the house. Someone could see in, but sister doesn't think she could see out very well.
  • Sister knows the family friend well. Friend is not connected to the boyfriend at all. Family friend did not hear any shots other than Adrienne's. The call started out with the noises and what they could possibly be, it started escalating and Adrienne began to panic and said she thought someone is outside. There were times when she set the phone down, then the gunshots, picked the phone back up, and said "oh my God, I shot him in the face".
  • Sister says they don't believe she shot someone in the face, what we are theorizing she shot through the window and saw her reflection.
  • Sister is asked if any drugs or alcohol were found in the cabin, not to her knowledge. Asked if Adrienne is typically a person who panics, sister replies that in the injury from the summer altercation, she suffered a head injury and wonders if that could be related.
  • No evidence of any gunshots other than her, there were six or seven in the window, one shot was in the rafters.
  • Sister thinks it's possible she had a mental breakdown related to the head injury and ran into the woods to escape. But the police did a very through search and found nothing. It's very marshy in the area.
  • No footprints or tire tracks were found, it's sandy/gravelly sand and grass in the area and there was no snow. No rain or mud either.
  • Why did Lundy leave two days before this happened? Sister says they were told he left to take some tiles they found in the basement of the cabin to her condo. She was fixing it up to sell it.
  • Interviewer asks about the height of the windows, says it doesn't make sense that you would shoot someone outside. Sister says the height of the windows to the ground outside is 7-8 feet. Any shots fired would have went over someone's head. But her car was parked outside, one of the windows was shot out. Sister says if she thought someone was outside, she had more bullets in the house. But she did not reload and stay in shelter, that doesn't make any sense to her. You would not have gone outside.
  • The only reason sister can think why she went out on the roof, there is an attic space in the cabin. She could have been paranoid that someone was going to enter the house from the attic. There is a small attic window which is open for ventilation, did she think someone entered that way, maybe. There is a straight ladder from the attic which comes down in the house between the kitchen and the living room.
  • It did take the Sheriff a while to get there. The family friend had never been to the cabin, had no idea where it was. When Adrienne asked for help, family friend said I don't know where you are. Adrienne put the phone down and was searching for something that had the address of the cabin. Adrienne picks up the phone and tells the family friend the wrong address.
  • Lundy got a lawyer, are you as a family still speaking to him? No, he has not been in contact with us. I don't know if that's by design, when I last saw him I was angry because my sister was missing and I said some very bad things to him when he showed up. I was also angry because she went missing on a Thursday and he did not show up until Saturday after 5. That's a long time for someone who says they love someone to show up.
  • Nick was working on some of the renovations of the condo with Lundy. He has not talked to Nick any further either.
  • Sister thinks Adrienne may have been abducted. The reason is there was a ladder leaned up against the back of the house where the mudroom roof is. It would have been easy to go up the ladder and after her on the roof. The other reason is she never went anywhere without her gun. They found her gun with an empty clip right underneath the area where her shoes and phone were. Her gun was found outside in the leaves, not in the house. To separate her from her gun and it being found in the leaves, that is why I think someone took her.
  • Can anyone confirm Lundy was actually at home that night? She sent a text message to Lundy at 1:40 AM. She had walked her dog and thought she saw a cougar out near the road. So I am assuming the police pinged his phone to check where he was, she was told his phone was down here. Sister was asked if he answered her text, sister does not know.
  • Sister is asked if she thinks Lundy is involved. She says she has very mixed feelings. While she doesn't think he drove 250 miles to snatch her, she thinks he knows more than he has shared. Why wouldn't he cooperate no matter what.
  • Who would have come after Adrienne? Sister says maybe a local knew she was a woman alone, random abduction. Maybe the person she was in the altercation with. Nothing about this situation makes sense to me.
  • The cabin was locked up when LE arrived, they had to break a window to gain entrance. Adrienne and Lundy had recently adopted a dog in honor. Mid sized black and white dog, it was found in the house when LE arrived.
  • Sister says some have thought she staged this and willingly disappeared herself. That doesn't make sense, she could have just left a note took her purse, phone, dog and car and disappeared. She could have gotten a lot further away doing that, could have sold her car. It would have been days before they discovered her missing.
  • No legal or financial problems, she had not worked for years. She wasn't well off and would never do that to Nick.
  • Any struggles with mental health? No.
  • Adrienne's ex husband gave the money to double the reward. He was in Florida when this happened, by the way.

Wow. What I got is Adrienne texted the boyfriend Lund at about 130 am just before call about a cougar sighting and the interviewer asked if the boyfriend returned the text from the phone which was 200 miles away from Cabin. Even if somebody did text back, using Lund phone does not give Lund alibi. And not asked was Lund seen less than 4hrs before or 4 hr after the call. Lund does not work is key also. There was a girl friend mentioned up north who possibly could have been with Adrienne and they could have been followed from somewhere if they went out. Wonder why thats a question still by the sister, seems like she would be asking that person if they were together. Also missing is who actually saw Adrienne up there like the Uncle she was "helping" close not ready the cabin. Time for the son Nick to be interviewed. Also x husband was in Florida, and upped reward 15 days only-strange . The beating she took in July while Lund present ......Lund knows who did it....did nothing.....as per sister.......could he have tipped the perps off and sold her location? Who gets the condo ?

From Brainscratch (John Lordan) interview on YouTube with Adrienne's sister (at 52:03):

Adrienne and her boyfriend had adopted a black and white, medium-sized mixed breed dog from a shelter (or rescue) in Honor (where cabin is located). When she was walking the dog, or at the time she had let the dog out, at approx. 1:30 a.m. the same morning she went missing, Adrienne thought she saw a cougar. She texted her boyfriend, who was back at Adrienne's condo, to tell him that. Her sister doesn't know whether he responded to her text. Her call to the friend when she was hearing noises, came later (at 2:34 a.m.), prior to the other 2 calls she made where she didn't reach the person(s) she was calling. The dog was discovered inside the locked up cabin by LE when they came to respond to the situation. LE had to break a window in order to get into the cabin.

Also from the interview, Adrienne's sister said that Adrienne's ex-husband (step-father to Adrienne's son), is the individual who added funds to temporarily increase the reward amount for information on Adrienne's disappearance.

Adrienne's sister also made a point of saying that Adrienne went missing on Thursday, 10/17/2019; the boyfriend did not show up at the cabin after she went missing until Saturday, 10/19/2019, after 5:00 p.m. It was also noted that the boyfriend does not have a job, and Adrienne has not worked for about two years.

Adrienne's boyfriend, according to her sister, had moved out of Adrienne's condo about a month prior to the two of them going up to the cabin. Why did he move out? It was also noted that the boyfriend does not have a job, and Adrienne has not worked for about two years.

Pretty sure Jenny said it was her son Nick who moved out of the condo, not Lundy the boyfriend?

Thank you so much for this recap as I’m not able to watch the video right now! Very helpful. :D

Gosh, I’d really like to know more about the altercation this summer where she got the head injury. What in the world was that about and why didn’t her bf protect her? I feel like this could be significant. At least b/c of the head injury. Good lord.

At around 51 min mark, sister says what if she and Wendy were out or together and some local followed her home... Wendy and Adrienne now possibility, wheres Wendy?

So when the interviewer said he would call the boyfriend “boyfriend “ I sensed she wanted to give something up by giving his first name Lundy. OK, game on. I searched Facebook for “Lundy” and found one. That’s all I’m going to say about that.
