Police: Vehicle linked to missing person spotted driving into Lake Michigan

"A recovery mission was about to begin at DuSable Harbor after police tracked down a missing person’s cell phone and saw a vehicle drive into Lake Michigan.

About 3:15 a.m., Area North detectives investigating a missing person discovered a cell phone pinging to the 100 block of North Lake Shore. Police camera footage showed a vehicle plunging into Lake Michigan, according to Chicago police.
About 5 a.m., police said their Marine Unit was about to make a recovery mission. Lake Shore Drive is open in both directions, but the bike path and the Randolph Street northbound exit ramps were closed."

Businesses in the area of the nightclub say a fight broke out during those early-morning hours Sunday.

CBS 2 asked police if the search was part of their investigation, but they wouldn’t say.​

They haven't ID'd them yet, but it is the car. Video here shows the car being recovered.

The license plate matches the missing car.

We've been very critical of Chicago PD on the Kierra Coles case, but kudos to them with this case, connecting cell pings to the location, then finding the video showing the car entering Lake Michigan.

Just noticed this case and came to post because it is absolutely heartbreaking, so very sorry for the families of these good young men.

I am sorry that Tony and Joey are missing I hope you get some answers today.

I do wonder if they were trying to run away from someone chasing them? Hence they went over. Can't imagine how horrible that must have been for them.
