So we have trial dates for Mathis and Beckley but nothing yet for Garth and Kirts?

My guess is those two are pleading not guilty but perhaps Garth and Kirts are going for a plea?

@Tippy Lynn - how come I can't find any of them in the Indiana court site? I just looked & only Kirts has an open case, but that is for strangulation & domestic battery.... and I noticed that you use Doxpop. Can you give me the case #s that are on there - maybe I can find them that way on the court site that I have access to?

TIA!

ETA - maybe I've had this conversation with you before - but don't recall "why" I couldn't find their cases.... getting old... and don't want to go back looking for it - IF we did! LOL! ;)

Newton county don't use Odyssey. Only the Odyssey system is in Mycase.
This is the strangulation charge from Jan 2019. You can see he was arrested 21 Jan and not bailed till 28 Feb after a protection order was put in place and someone paid £500 bail. Within a month Nicole was murdered. A jury trial was scheduled but cancelled. There will be a status hearing for this strangulation charge after the Omnibus hearing this month for Nicole's case. If he had not been bailed, Nicole (and RH mentioned on the last page post #229) would both still be alive.

You're welcome. I'm happy to help, but I would sign up for Doxpop. You'll be glad you did :)

Bumping for Nicole !!
2 more days until court hearings.
I will be here bright and early, patiently waiting for them to get started!!
Wish I lived closer--I would start a group of protesters in front of court with hopes they get way more than what JP got -- she got off way too easy, considering she was there and it happened in HER home, IMO

Justice Seekers,
Please help us show Nicole’s family our support by changing your cover and profile pictures to these photos! Please share this post everywhere!
The Omnibus hearings for the remaining four is set for tomorrow morning at 8:30am. These SHOULD be pretty straightforward...BUT with Jasmine Parker’s Omnibus hearing turning out to be her plea and sentencing proceedings that quite frankly, was INJUSTICE and a slap in the face to those that loved Nicole Thomas Bowen! #JusticeforNicole#NewtonCountyDAnomorepleadeals
Thank you in advance,

Thank you @Niner for posting this ^^
I am looking on twitter to see who will be there and updating - I only know of Rafael in the area so if anyone happens to see who is updating from the courthouse, please let me know.
Nicole's mom and aunt are going to try to send me updates but I don't expect them to do so until probably after each case plus I am not sure I can post them here per TOS.
I know we like to follow along during the proceedings so will try to update as soon as I find anything.

Plea deals offered in Kentland homicide

KENTLAND — Newton County Prosecutor Jeff Drinski anticipates all four cases involving the murder of Nicole Brown at a trailer park just north of Kentland to be resolved by Jan. 8.

“I have made plea offers in all the cases,” said Drinski. “This will prevent the family members from having to relive the event all over again during a trial.”

TY for this link, The other one would not load for me. Still seem to be awaiting DNA, for Garth at least. The others seem to possibly have deals likely too.

"But family members of Bowen, dressed in matching, light blue #justicefornicole T-shirts, said they’d been told by the prosecutor’s office that Kirts was in line to get a 45-year sentence, according to terms offered.

Codey Spear, Kirts’ attorney, acknowledged in court that the prosecutor’s plea offer was one Kirts was “inclined to accept,” pending hammering out some details. Kirts did not speak during Friday morning’s hearing. The plea expected during a hearing scheduled for Jan. 8.

Drinski initially indicated that he planned to ask for life without parole for Kirts, saying he planned to prove torture was involved the Bowen’s death.

“That’s still on the table, if this winds up going to trial,” Drinski said after a series of hearings for Kirts and three accomplices charged with assisting a criminal.

“I felt a plea was in everybody’s best interest,” Drinski said. “You hate to put a family through a trial, because they have to keep reliving what happened."

More at link.

Doxpop still hasn't been updated. Below are the upcoming court dates that were given in MSM.

Dec. 18, 2019
TB, 30, of Monticello. (Assisting a criminal, level 5 felony, carries one to six year sentence)

CM, 27, of Kentland. Assisting a criminal, level 5 felony, carries one to six year sentence)

AG, 26, of Delphi. Assisting a criminal, level 5 felony, carries one to six year sentence) Plea deal was contingent on the DNA results, which could add a murder charge.

Jan. 8, 2020
GK, 21, of Lebanon (Murder, possible plea deal with a 45 year sentence)

J. Parker got a sweet deal, IMO. She provided the location, was there while the murder was taking place and did nothing to stop it and knew Nicole was murdered.

According to linked news reports, DNA results are expected to be in before Dec 18 but deputy prosecutor Goddard told the court that the plea agreement shielded Parker from future prosecution.

I've been wandering around Kirts' court records for several hours; a little help, please. I'm puzzled as to the assisting a criminal charge... do we know about that? While this charge has been dismissed, it can be brought back at a later time. So, they put this one on a back burner while the murder charge is pending?

This is only part of the record.
