MI MI - Brianna Vibert, 24, Genesee County, 15 July 2017

CrimeStoppers set up two billboards along Saginaw Street to help solve the disappearance of Brianna Vibert two years ago.

Family and friends paid for the billboards with her photo near the intersections of Hemphill Road and Atherton Road with Saginaw Street in Flint.

Vibert was last seen in the area on July 15, 2017. She was walking from the Mobil gas station on Saginaw Street toward Atherton Road around 2:45 a.m. when she disappeared.

Vibert is 5-foot-9, 120 pounds and has tattoo reading "family" on her right shoulder, along with smaller tattoos on both wrists. She also wears piercings in both ears and her nose.

She was last seen wearing a cream colored top, black capri pants and flip flops.

Anyone with information on Vibert's whereabouts is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-422-JAIL. A reward is being offered for information that leads to her.

Mysterious New Details About The Mother Of Four Who Went Missing After Leaving A Gas Station

[...]

Laura Nail, the current girlfriend of Vibert's ex-husband, said that Vibert's boyfriend claimed she was screaming and throwing things during the argument. She was supposedly angry because her four children weren't able to visit because her house lacked running water from a broken well.

[...]

Employees told Nail she arrived in "pretty bad shape," and left with the man who brought her there. Vibert was last seen at a Mobile gas station around 3 a.m. Surveillance videos show her holding onto shelves for balance and walking in the parking lot with the man who had given her multiple rides that evening.

[..]

Vibert's mother, Bobbi Jo Stone, has said she fears her daughter was taken against her will. She told CrimeOnline that Vibert had a "very tenuous stressful relationship" with her boyfriend which included physical abuse. She had also had been re-engaging with some "problematic" friends.

[...]
It seems like there could be some people connected to Brianna who need to be cleared. However, the sheer number of women from Flint who have vanished or been found dead point to the presence of an active serial killer. Brianna's unsteady condition would have made her stand out to a predator trolling for a vulnerable victim in a target-rich area. If Brianna had wandered off and died accidentally, then she probably would have been found by now. Foul play seems extremely likely at this point.

I’ve recently read several case descriptions regarding Brianna Vibert, including the summary at the Charley Project and the many posts in this thread. I have no connection to this case but it’s a very sad and unfortunate situation without question.

The case descriptions and forum posts include a significant amount of details in this case but also leave out some important information. Hopefully people here more familiar with this case can fill in some of the gaps so we all get a better understanding of her case.

Charley Project - Brianna-Jayde-Vibert

The case descriptions indicate Brianna Vibert was recently divorced and had four young children. The case summary linked above says Vibert “had a rocky relationship with both her ex-husband and her new boyfriend. According to her mother, Vibert's new boyfriend physically abused her, and when her friends offered to help, he threatened them”. Based on these statements Vibert must have been going through a very difficult time in her personal life to say the least.

Returning to the case description, on the night of her disappearance, Vibert’s boyfriend claimed they had a violent argument and that Vibert ”was screaming, throwing things and cut her arm with a knife before she left the house that night”. She left her residence sometime before 1:00AM and walked to the nearby Marathon gas station on Miller Road, apparently a common thing for her to do.

It’s unclear what Vibert did at the Marathon station on this visit or how long she was there, but the case summary says “surveillance video from the gas station shows Vibert appearing anxious, even panicked, and she had blood on the inside of her right forearm”.

I’m assuming the blood on her right arm was the same injury mentioned during the argument with her boyfriend. The only photo I’ve seen of Vibert at the Marathon station is very small and poor quality, so it’s difficult to see the injury in that photo.

Q: Has anyone found links to the Marathon station surveillance video?

Q; Does anyone know if any Marathon employees spoke with Vibert, noticed her “panicked” behavior or the blood on her arm?

Next, the case summary says that around 1:00AM at the Marathon station she was seen entering “a red Pontiac Aztek driven by an African-American male”.

Q: Do we know if Vibert knew this person?

Q: Did Vibert approach the red Aztek driver and ask for a ride, or did the Aztek driver approach her at the Marathon station?

The case summary says Vibert asked to be taken to a restaurant, but I’ve not seen any information about this.

The case file then says the driver of the red Aztek drove Vibert to a local Flint “adult entertainment club” where she had previously worked, and that employees at the club said Vibert was in "pretty bad shape" when she arrived.

Q: What does “pretty bad shape” mean? Are these employees referring to her emotional state as reported earlier at the Marathon station, or her bleeding arm, or something else?

The next time Vibert is seen is around 2:45AM at the Mobil gas station on Saginaw Street. The surveillance video here reportedly shows her “stumbling inside the building, holding onto shelves to stay upright”.

Q: Has anyone found links to the Mobil station surveillance video?

Q: Does anyone know if Vibert had been drinking or taking any drugs/medication around this time?

From what I’ve read it’s unclear how long she was in the Mobil station or what she was doing while there, but if she was having difficulty walking this supports the “pretty bad shape” condition noted earlier at the adult club.

Also, based on the one very poor quality photo in the case file from the Mobil station video, Vibert’s right arm appears bandaged and she’s wearing a sleeveless teal-colored top instead of the tan-colored, long sleeve top she had on earlier at the Marathon station. Her purse is also not visible in this photo.

Q: Do we know if any Mobil employees spoke with Vibert or noticed her condition at this time?

Q: Was the red Aztek driver inside the station with her or did he remain in his vehicle?

At this point the case files say Vibert left the Mobil station and started walking through the parking lot while the driver of the red Aztek drove away in the opposite direction.

Vibert’s cell phone was reported found in the red Aztek several days later, so when she left the Mobil station she didn’t have her phone with her. It’s unclear whether she had her purse with her or not when she left the Mobil station, but the case files indicate her purse was found in a ditch near her home.

Its been 4 ½ years since Vibert disappeared. Are there any more recent developments in her case?

there are no recent developments and AFAIK the Aztec driver was cleared, he just offered her a ride.

Brianna was not thinking clearly that night. :(

JMO/YMMV

In her condition, she could have wandered off and met with an accident, but she also might have been vulnerable to a predator, so we really don't know enough to zero in on a particular theory.

Thanks for the replies Nina and Ozoner.

I agree, based on what we know at this point her concerning her emotional and physical condition, Brianna Vibert could not have been acting or thinking clearly at the time she disappeared. Unfortunately there are many information gaps in this case that make it difficult to analyze the facts surrounding her disappearance without resorting to speculation and theory.

It would be helpful to know what information Flint LE learned from their investigation, including:

- What did Vibert and the driver of the Aztek talk about during their time together?

- What was Vibert's physical and emotional state at the time, and did it change from when they first met at the Marathon station around 1:00AM to the time he dropped her off at the Mobil station at 2:45AM?

- What took place at the adult nightclub and why did she want to go there in the first place?

- Did Vibert have her purse with her at the time they separated at the Mobil station?

The case files indicate Vibert's phone was found in the Aztek several days later, and Vibert's purse was later found in a roadside ditch. The one poor quality photo I've seen of Vibert at the Mobil station doesn't show her carrying her purse, so it would be helpful to know where her purse was at this time. Did she have it with her, did she leave it in the Aztek, did she drop it outside of the Mobil station, etc?

The case files also say that Vibert was "stumbling inside the building, holding onto shelves to stay upright" while at the Mobil station. I'm wondering if Vibert had taken, or been given, drugs at some point during the night which might have caused this? Her apparent condition at this time might explain why she left her phone in the red Aztek.

It's logical to assume Flint LE likely has most of this information about Vibert's disappearance, and probably more, but they haven't released it to the public.

Unfortunately, until more facts are released it's difficult to know exactly what happened to Brianna Vibert.

No updates that I'm aware of. The most recent MSM reports I've seen regarding Brianna's disappearance are a few years old.

Several WS members have suggested Flint LE is understaffed and underfunded. If so, then that could explain the lack of updates in this case. MOO

understaffed and underfunded is an understatement - JMO

Another case from Flint, Jina Collins, has been very quiet as well. Her remains were found last year but there has been very little, if any, information released from Flint LE concerning her case.

Brianna Vibert was last seen about 2:45 a.m. on July 15, 2017 at the Mobil Gas Station on S. Saginaw Street in Flint. She was walking toward Atherton Road.
